Ratings for Dr. Gerald N. Goldberg
I had brown spots removed 5 years ago by DR Goldberg and it went very well. All spots treated gone. I returned to do the same treatment with a package of my face and arms/hands. I was misinformed about the price and ended up paying more. The staff said I should have known....even though they did not tell me splitting the treatments would cost hundreds more. Dr Goldberg used a different laser and the spots did not lighten or disappear. The staff implied that was because of my skin, not the treatment of course. I am required to pay for a visit to Dr Goldberg to get his opinion about the spots and why the treatment didn't work this time. I am concerned that I will be required to pay AGAIN for the treatment. Dr Goldberg was rude and disdainful when I had the laser done. I am going to go somewhere else for both my medical and cosmetic treatment. They are vague about cost and no one needs to be treated poorly by a doctor with a bad attitude.
The staff was able to get me a same day appnt for my son who had 2nd degree eczema infections. We are from Canada and is was SO appreciated. I don't understand the poor reviews bc the staff were friendly, professional and cheerful. Dr Goldberg himself was thorough, empathetic and extremely knowledgable. He made sure I understood everything. My son's cheeks healed fast. He also allowed his paperwork to be copied and given to us for our hometown doctor. I would recommend him to anyone. I trusted him with my son and he didn't let me down. He has my eternal gratitude.
I have never in my 46 years been treated so poorly by any medical provider. My biopsy result for a potentially disfiguring facial skin cancer still is not back after 15 days. I was told it would be 72 hours or less. When I call, the staff is rude and arrogant. I would never, ever recommend this office to anyone.
I was very upset with all aspects of my treatment. I left with holes in my face that were not there previously! Now I perspire in areas that didn't previously.I returned to complain that I knew they used the wrong type of laser (I've had flawless skin due to fantastic laser treatments in San Diego where they used a different type of laser) and they were so rude and didn't ask me why I thought they used the wrong laser. The office staff and Dr. Goldberg were very rude and incompetent. Apparently, they do so much business from tattoo removal in Tucson that they don't worry about getting new business.
In this office all patients are cattle, hustled in and out. If your appointment takes too long, you will have to pay to have future appointments to finish the work. Technicians report that customers are prepped every five minutes. The office staff behind glass are the rudest you will find. I've seen them treat patients as if they were garbage, even laughing at them. Goldberg gets paid by all of his underling's patients, too, and claims to review every sample that is tested for malignancy. Do yourself a favor and find another Tucson dermatologist with a better staff who won't treat you poorly.
From the time I scheduled an appointment to going and sitting in the beautiful waiting area, I felt the staff treated me as if I was the only patient there. The wait was a bit over my time however I received incredible treatment once I was in the exam room. All my questions were answered and the regiment of treatment was explained carefully to me. The experience was worth the long trip for my appointment.
Based on the experience Goldberg supposedly had on removing moles/birthmarks I assumed that he would be able to help me a great deal, but that was not the case at all. During my appointment I found him to be rather sarcastic and he did everything in a rush, which was annoying to me… he answered my questions in a rush and not thoroughly at all. He refused to perform any treatment stating that it was a medical condition… this is not true at all. I’ve done an enormous amount of research on birthmarks/moles and this one is purely cosmetic. What he did though is scar me for life. He did a biopsy (which I see now was unnecessary) and the wound still hasn’t healed and it’s been half a year since my appointment. He said that it would heal in a few weeks and tissue heals really well in the area the biopsy was performed. It appears that there is going to be a flat white atrophic scar where the biopsy was done for the rest of my life. In my opinion Goldberg should never be called a doctor.
