Ratings for Dr. Lisa B. Freedman
Some may be put off by the fact that the Villanova office is in the basement of Dr. Freedman’s home, or might find some elements of the practice less polished or professional than the norm, but for me these have been comforting factors: it feels less medicalized this way, less sterile and scary. That was huge for me initially, since I’d managed to avoid doctors for most of my twenties and had, in the process, built up quite the fear of finally going when I first arrived at this office a few years ago. Dr. Freedman got me over all that quickly and thoroughly, with no reprimands, just reassurance, and I’ll always be grateful for that. In the time since, she’s done a number of necessary and/or beneficial things for me that I know would have been more elaborate and stressful and complicated in the hands of someone else. I appreciate her combination of a fairly hands-off style, (office visits usually consist of a simple, fully-clothed chat) and a holistic approach that doesn’t discount things like reputably sourced supplements and solidly backed food-sensitivity testing; I also like that she won’t encourage more invasive options or medication unless they’re really warranted, but instead, she’ll spell out pros and cons and let you make decisions. I’ve never felt pressured or judged, and she really does listen, remember lots of personal details about my life, and seem to genuinely care. She consistently (and accurately) helps me figure out what’s worth worrying about, and she’s lifted a lot of fear and stress from my life as a result. All of these things, to me, more than make up for some quirks or moods you might encounter depending on the day, and the fact that it can sometimes be difficult to get ahold of someone by phone (though I’ve never had trouble getting an appointment, wait times are short, and visits are quick and efficient). This won’t be the right practice for everyone, but it’s been good for me, and I’m so relieved to have built a relationship with a doctor I trust and am comfortable with.
I have been very happy with Dr. Freedman's persistence to get to the root of my chronic pain and sickness issues. No other Dr. to date has done this or even suggested to move in that direction. I am very grateful and hope that we do get to the final root of my problems in a successful manner. Thank you!
I have been a patient of Dr. Freedmans for over 17 years. Dr. Freedman is always attentive and during office visits I have never felt rushed or not listened to; She has monitored a chronic condition I have had for years and I definitely owe a good portion of my well being to Dr. Freedman. After hours and on weekends she has been helpful and accommodating. Dr. Freedman is very knowledgeable, attentive and caring – an excellent doctor.
Dr. Freedman is thorough and wants to get to the root of the problem. She is a brilliant physician and I trust her knowledge and expertise. I appreciate her holistic approach to my health. She presented a number of options to treat my fatigue and is genuinely concerned about helping me live a better life.
I look forward to seeing Dr. Freedman; she works hard to keep in touch and stays alert to my habits and my health. This is very similar to a concierge service without the high fees. I have never felt that anything is pushed on me, but then I am fully involved in my health and my lifestyle. I cannot ask someone to help me if I am being self-destructive. I know the staff and like them. I don't think she is appropriate for those who want to be pampered and coddled; she is all about the patient's health and not about style points. I would recommend her without question for anyone who really values their health and well-being.
For the last year of my 18 year old daughter's life I was unable to find a doctor who was informed enough to diagnose what was happening in her body. She had tons of lab work done only to be told everything was normal. Her 30 pound weight gain in a 12 month period, extreme fatigue and severe aches were far from normal for her. I am so thankful to have finally found Dr Freedman. She ordered the correct blood tests and was able to diagnose my daughter with Hoshimoto's Disease. She was also able to successfully treat and teach her how to manage it. Her holistic approach to viewing the patient instead of treating the symptoms enabled her to get an understanding of what was taking place in my daughter's body that were actually causing the symptoms. She is not only a phenomenal Doctor but also an amazing person.
