Ratings for Dr. Terry B. Short
This doctor has me very perplexed. I went to him for the first time about 2 months ago and quite honestly feel in love with his bed side manner. He listened to me, did not make me feel stupid, and helped calm my nerves as it was my 3rd attempt to see a doctor and get better after a major sinus infection lasting over a year. I usually prefer holistic care and have not had an actual medical doctor since I was 15 years old other than my typical OBGYN. I haven't needed one. As I am getting older I am realizing the importance of having a doctor who knows you and your family and the history. I was actually so impressed I referred the most important person in my life, my mother. She had the complete opposite experience, where he condescended to her, made her feel absolutely unheard, not important, and quite frankly neglected. He basically almost sent her into a deeper depression than she had already experienced and could have given a 65 year old a heart attack. He basically informed her that that she had the worst case of depression that he had ever seen and that her body was attacking itself. He also stated that he was so worried that her body may give up and out on her...And 2 weeks went by with 0 follow up from him or his staff. He then refused to treat her or renew or discuss any of her medications (prescribed to her by her regular medical doctor), refused to see her, and recommended her to a Psychiatrist office that was not accepting patients until March (This was right before Christmas). My mother just simply caught a cold from my toddler but was already previously weak from depression and a huge move, that when she heard his reaction, she busted into tears. He also neglected to call her to give any report on how she was after blood work and any basic information even though he was as he stated deeply concerned about her health and weight loss. And was simply hurtful in the delivery of any info. How disgusting. How educated could a doctor be? What kind of doctor refuses to be someone's doctor because of their assumed mental health. I am honestly repulsed and so saddened by this.
This is the worst doctor I've ever seen. I've told this man numerous amounts of time about pain in my hand and how it's steadily been increasing. He never does anything. He just says ok and take aspirin and walks out the room. I also made a complaint about pain in my chest. He never even acknowledged that. He just left me sitting there and walked out the room and told me to have a good day. This doctor will not do anything to you, is very impersonal, and will not at least pretend to be helpful. Be warned, if you're looking for a doctor DON'T GO TO HIM!!!!!!!
grandparent complained of hurtting. He said they was just old. He died of cancer 30 days later. BAD DOCTOR. GRANDMOTHER COMPLAINED OF OBDOMINAL PAIN THAT RAIATS TO BACK. HE GAVE HER ANTACID. HAD TO CHANGE DOCTOR SHE HAD A ARTERIAL RUPTURE THAT ALMOST KILLED HER. THE HOSPITAL SHE USED REFUSED TO LISTEN TO PATIENT. SHE DIED 4 MONTHS LATER OF SEPTIC BLOOD POISONING FROM KIDNEY INFECTION. I GIVE THEM A 0 ON PATIENT CARE AND QUALITY OF CARE. OVER DOSING WAS A MAJOR PROBLEM. AND OLD IS NOT AN ANSWER TO WHY.
His office doesn't return calls in a timely manner. One has to call mujltiple times. Often it takes days for the office to get back with you. My mother had xrays and didn't hear from the results. We called many times and were told that no news is good news. Ultimately they called after 2 weeks and informed her that there was a problem with her knee. This has been common with his clinic. I am not qualified to measure the doctor's knowledge, just the same, I have little confidence.
