Ratings for Dr. Joseph J. Brignola
Dr. Brignola is great. He never rushes and is very helpful. He carries around a tablet and writes down everything and will ask you about your previous concerns during your visit. I highly recommend Dr. Brignola. He reviews results of blood work quickly and has one of the assistants call to relay the results. He's available to speak with you on the phone as well if you need help understanding the results and/or have any questions. I'm very happy with Dr. Brignola. The staff at the office could be better. They never answer the phone and when they do, you get an attitude as if you're bothering them.
Doctor himself is a good doctor. Nutley offices are a nightmare. The staff are unwelcoming and nasty when you call, they will take others before you even when you have a set appt. Very unpleasant experience at this office. Answer the phone a little more professional and realize you are working in a field that requires you to make people feel heard and safe or quit.
Dr. Brignola is the best primary physician I've ever had. He is extremely skilled and knowledgeable and is also quite willing to listen to my research on fibromyalgia that is not any part of an internist's field. He does use his tablet, but that ensures accurate records and he looks up from it very often, presenting a caring, confident demeanor. He is "up" on the newest information about diseases and medications. I have not found his staff hard to reach and have always had my messages relayed to Dr. Brignola. AND he always calls back. When I have lab work done on a Saturday, he always calls on Monday to discuss it. He's guiding me through a number of on-going problems and I wouldn't think of seeing any other internist.
Dr. Brignola is very helpful, kind, approachable, and seems to care about his patients. If his staff manages to get a message to him, he always calls back and will follow up. He is a bit too much into his laptop during the visit, but keeps great records on the other hand. The shared staff at this office is typical of many doctors offices in New Jersey, impatient, rude, and more interested in conversing amongst themselves. Nine times out of 10 the phone is busy when you call, so patience is a must in reaching the office an dealing with the staff.
