I was sent to Dr Wander by my pain management doctor. During my first visit he did things that no other specialist had done before. He actually did a full exam and asked a lot of questions and looked at all the test results I had done. He didn't agree with the diagnosis I got from 2 other doctors (and I wasn't getting better), so I figured I'd listen to his recommendations. Boy am I glad I listened, because my problem that I've had for a long time is finally almost completely resolved.
Doctor Wander is great....he conducted a bunion surgery on my right foot on May 7th and I'm now walking in my sneakers. He explained the whole procedure before surgery, very supportive after surgery. He is a bit anal but that's why he is so excellent! I look forward to him doing surgery on my right foot👍🏾
Writing once again....Doctor Wander has done it again... My wife has has her second bunion removed, and here we are one day shy of three weeks, and today she is done with the surgery boot, and is back wearing her sneakers !!!!!!! I cannot EMPHASIZE to all those who are afraid of this type of surgery that there is NO - repeat NO !!!- pain..... My wife has told anyone that will ask and listen, that the premise is very, very simple.... Doctor Wander knows exactly what he is doing, and he gives a listing of some very simple post surgery things to do, and not do... It's simple DO WHAT HE SAYS !!!!! My wife is pain free, range of movement is beyond expectation at this time, and she is extremely happy with her "new look" !!!!
While I could go on about our feelings towards the good Doc, I must not fail to include ALL of his hard working staff !!!! Excellence all around ............ Our thanks to all involved....
My names Heather and Dr. Wander performed bunion surgery on my right foot Dec 18, 2014, let me tell you!' I was so nervous bc I heard from multiple people that their surgery was so painful. Well...it's January 6, 2015 and I barely had any pain!! I was so confused how some people had so many difficulties and mine was so easy and painless. Dr Wander is very up front and tells how it is! Some people don't like that but I love it. Don't listen to anyone but him! And please if you're reading this to decide if he should perform surgery on you don't hesitate. Just do it! He's amazing! I will be getting my left foot done and wouldn't go to anyone else!
I'm the spouse of the patient and feel I MUST "tell the world" about this very fine Doctor...
My wife had a bunion and hammer toe on her right foot, and she was operated on September 4. Today - just 20 days later she was given the OK to remove her "boot" and walk in sneakers.
Ever since she began this journey, everyone that we spoke with absolutely said that the procedure is painful !!!!!!!!! Well they are all WRONG !!!!!! Simply put - you have an excellent Doctor doing a superb procedure, and then instructing the patient what to do and what to not do, which my wife followed precisely !!!!!! The results - no pain - no issues - nothing !!!!!
Cannot stop being AMAZED - We are very happy with everyone associated with this from day one !!!!! Appointments are on time, office staff knows her by name, that ask how she feels, etc... The office waiting area itself is a pleasure - decorated in the current holiday theme (Halloween).... Would and have recommended this Doctor to anyone !!!!
I was at my wits end looking for the right doctor to work on my feet..I was to a few but felt no confidence in them. Then I went to Doctor Wander...what a breath of fresh air!! Not only was he competent & confident, I loved his wit! He will be completing foot #2 next summer for I am a teacher & need my 'feet' to work.
I first came across Dr. Wander 3 and a half years ago. At that time it was because of the thoroughness of his exam and his intuitive knowledge that he was able to accurately diagnose my issue. Convinced that I might need surgery, and not feeling real comfortable with that prospect, Dr. Wander dispelled that fear, suggesting other alternatives. I continue to see Dr. Wander for foot issues and have wholeheartedly recommended him to my neighbors. For me, as for many people, a visit to a physician can cause stress and anxiety. But not only is he extremely knowledgeable and professional, he also knows how to put his patients at ease. To his credit, he seems to have an ease at developing a rapport with his patients and seems to always be willing to listen to their concerns. Additionally, the entire staff at his facility is efficient, pleasant and understanding. I have visited his office several times and have never had to wait past my appointment time to see Dr. Wander.
When called for apt did not feel like I was a person. asked DOB & address b4 asked my name. Asked for appt with Dr. Cohen-12:30 apt made. message was left to confirm appt for 1:00 but then said my arrival time was 1:30 confusing me When I called to check was told Dr. Cohen retired the day I called for the appt. I was assigned Dr. Wander. when I tried to express my fear and discomfort. He was unconcerned. He went outside the room and yelled to someone to bring him an 18 gauge needle I asked not to talk about it but loudly asked for the 18 gauge needle 2 more times. When he reentered the room I asked him not to tell me what he was doing again. He had already told me. He started to repeat it and I asked again for him just to do it and not to talk about it. His response, "I practice how I practice." Guess what? He will not be practicing his arrogance or lack of concern for nervous patients on me. My follow up appt will be with with another podiatriast in another practice
Dr. David S. Wander's response
I'm sorry your experience was perceived as negative. Despite your comments that I "yelled" to someone to bring me an 18 gauge needle, we both know it didn't quite happen that way. I have an assistant who I asked to get me the needle, without yelling. I apologize that you heard me ask her, but that was in an attempt to stay in the room with you. Although you didn't want me to explain what I was going to do, I feel it's important for patients to know what's about to occur, especially when needles or syringes are involved. I will attempt to learn from this experience to avoid it happening again. Thanks.

I am a 62 year old Female and had bunion surgery on my right foot in Oct'13. I had bunion surgery on my left foot in Dec'13 because I wanted to be okay in time for the summer. Dr. Wander said as long as I do exactly what he tells me to do everything will be fine. He was right!!!! My left foot isn't finished healing yet because it's only been 4 weeks but everything is great! I'm so sorry I didn't do this much sooner.
I am a 39 yr old female who had bunion surgery on my right foot on October 24,2013. Dr. Wander is an excellent, professional, kind, and available to answer any questions you may have. I am in my third week post op, back to work and feeling great. Never had any pain, or discomfort, just do exactly as instructed by Dr. Wander and you'll be fine. I would highly recommend Dr. Wander. His staff is awesome as well.
