Ratings for Dr. Edward D. Kogan
I made an appointment with Dr. Edward Kogan regarding back pain that I have been having. The worst part of this office is the staff. Every time you call you are put on hold, the staff never identifies themselves, and they are very rude. They do not listen to your needs. Dr. Kogan examined me for my back pain and said he thinks it is a herniated disc in my back. He prescribed a muscle relaxer, a steroid anti-inflammatory. I called them and said the steroid did nothing for me and the muscle relaxer made me way too tired and I could not focus on work. These did nothing for the pain in my back. I requested a pain killer such as vicodin. The lady calls me back and says they want to give me tramadol (Ultram which is a pain killer that also acts as an antidepressent) they said it would make me DROWSY & SLEEPY. I just told them that was the reason I didn't want the muscle relaxer they gave me. They clearly don't listen. Each member of the staff that I spoke with would interrupt me on the phone and not listen to what I would have to say. She calls me back and says the on call doctor prescribed another medicine called Diclofenac and she wouldn't even EXPLAIN to me what it was! She also said they ordered an XRAY for my back. YOU DO NOT ORDER AN XRAY. An MRI is needed to see if there is in fact a Disc problem in your back. I can go on and on and I've only visited this office once and only dealt with them for 1 week.. They do not listen to your needs and are very rude. I am not the type of person to complain and I am in sales so customer service is definitely something I understand. I would find someone else. I would expect a medical office to take care of you and be informative. I am extremely dissapointed with this office.
I went to him after being on several different Cholesterol pills. After getting my blood test done he took me off the cholesterol pills. Asked me to see him back in 3 months. He is conservative in using the prescription unlike other Doctors. I like him style of practicing medicine. Highly Recommend this Doctor anyone who is looking for good internist.
I went to the doctor for persistent back pain and he prescribed pain killers and anit inflematory pills. For the next 2 weeks I was OK, but as soon as I ran out of pills the pain came back with a vengance. Next I went to a chiropractor and it turns out I has scoliosis, a slight bend in my spine causing muslce tention. The night after the chiropractor's adjustment I finaly slept; the first time in over 2 months. I needed an spine adjustment and the doc was peddling pills - internist.
Dr. Kogan listens! He has provided me with excellent care for what seems to be at this stage, an illusive auto-immune issue. His staff is knowledgeable. Billing easy to deal with. Returns calls within a few hours, but always the same day. This Dr. even stops to see how you are doing when you are just in for blood work.
I was not actually a patient of his, but a medical student working with him and I can tell you he provides great care. I saw it first hand, and not only that he is great with his staff. Very willing to listen to you, but will not do any unnecessary tests, which any good doctor should do. Very straight forward, and will tell you like it is, but in a great way! Very compassionate, and extremely intelligent, comes highly recommeded!
