Ratings for Dr. Philip Gibbs
Dr. Gibbs, his wife (runs office) and staff are excellent. He's been my primary care physician for over 10 years now. Although no apparent symptoms, he diagnosed and referred me to Seattle for Angioplasty and (likely) life-saving quadruple bypass surgery. He's fast and thorough, not particularly 'touchy-feely' I would guess; but definitely cares about you as his patient, and puts his all into keeping you well.
Dr. Gibbs was pleasant enough, and genial, though I get the feeling that he's completely professionally inept. Visited for fainting spells. He used an ancient ultrasound device on my chest for 5 seconds max, decided that I was dehydrated, and told me to eat more salt. Took blood tests and lost the results. While the office help are complete sweethearts, the place is a complete disorganized mess (literally) with decor and equipment that may have been state-of-the-art circa 1979. Avoid.
This man seemed very uncaring. He would not make contact with the family to update us on dad's condition, even after leaving several messages at the nurses desk for him. He gave us the feeling that he gave up on dad because he is 88 and crippled from a stroke. He sent him home still very sick with a contagious condition without warning the family or giving medication to treat this condition. We felt that dad was sent home to die. A few months ago my mother was sent to him for her heart and was told that she had a little calcium on a valve but would be fine. Three weeks ago she went to the hospital with chest pain and just underwent a two-way bypass and valve replacement. The surgeon said that she had maybe 6 months to live without the surgery.
