Ratings for Dr. Farzad Massoudi
Waited 1 1/2 months for an appointment and then showed up 15 minutes late. Office staff was very rude and said we had to come back in 3 weeks when they had another opening. I have 6 MRIs in the last year that say I am in major pain but they really didn't even care to look. When my little asian wife asked them to have compassion they did not and we left. I said I would call back to reschedule. When my insurance case manager tried to call them back to get an appointment sooner than 3 weeks they said that I was not welcome in the office anymore. It seems that massoudi runs the Monarch review process and determines which neurosurgeons are assigned to which cases for Monarch insurance. He seems that according to my case manager to have decided that I don't have a right to see any of the of the neurosurgeons under Monarch insurance. A month later my case manager still trying to set me up an appointment with somebody out of network. If you get a referral to dr. Massoudi be very careful of the front office very careful. Those two ladies think they're God and I would say Dr massoudi probably does as well . I am on about 20 milligrams of Percocet per 6 hours and still in some pain and using auro-correct so please excuse the grammar mistakes
I have major sciatica pain 4 the last yr. Finally got an apptment with a neurosurgeon thru the ins process. Had to wait 1 1/2 months till I could come in 2 see him. Got stuck on the 405 freeway & was late by 15 min. When we arrived the very cold b**** up front Leanne said we'd have 2 reschedule 4 another 3 weeks out. TT Shelly-offc mgr-she would not help. TT Ins co 2 file grievance. The next day the Ins co said we were not allowed back in the Dr.s offc. They said we were abusive 2 staff

Dr Massodi performed a back surgery on my mother about 2 month ago and he did such an exceptional job. My mother was up and walking one week after her spin surgery. My mother is so happy with the surgery and Dr Massodi that she asked me to write this comment for him, so others who are looking for a great neurosurgeon would consider and look him up.
Dr. Massoudi recently performed spinal fusion surgery on me. It is too early to determine the efficacy of the operation; but, Dr. Massoudi appears to be a very competent neurosurgeon. However, during a final pre-surgery visit I was advised that I would need a back brace and that I should be fitted for one before leaving the office. I left the office with a back brace. Three weeks after the operation, Massoudi Inc. sent me a statement wherein I discovered that Massoudi, Inc. had billed my insurer $1455.75 and had been reimbursed in the amount of $726.33. Massoudi, Inc. billed me an additional $128.17 to cover the disparity between the reimbursement and what they wanted for the back brace. Massoudi Inc. received total compenation in the amount of $854.50 when the actual retail cost of the brace is approximately $279. Massoudi Inc. could have fitted me and then told me I could purchase the brace on the open market for $279. They didn't.
Office staff must take a lot of heat and it shows(or is it arrogance?) It takes forever to get an appointment and then you get bumped and rescheduled and bumped again weeks later. I can only imagine how bad post-op follow-up must be.
Though a top rated neurosurgeon, this physician has no ability to work in patients who are having complications from surgery that he performed. I had to wait 2 months after noticing a complication from a spine surgery he recently did. I waited the 2 months for the FIRST AVAILABLE APPT, only to have them call and cancel it 2 days before--he was "too busy". The next available appt they could possibly schedule was ANOTHER 6 WEEKS AWAY. Though he is a skilled surgeon, he is simply too busy to see you if you need unexpected care after surgery. I'd look elsewhere, regretably. I'm picking up my records and trying to get in to see some other neurosurgeon.
