Dear Dr. Nihal, My heartfelt gratitude to you Dr. Nihal for restoring my right foot back to normal, I had an accident at work some years ago when one of the men accidentally ran over my foot with a fork lift. My foot looked like a flat pancake & my bones were mashed potato, doctors at the Logan Hospital were talking about amputation, they felt they could do nothing for me, my foot was beyond repair. Fortunately for me you were on duty that day, you looked at the X-Rays & said that you could save my foot. Dr. Nihal you did more than that, you have reconstructed my whole foot back to normal. I can walk, jump & run as good as before the accident. Dr. Nihal you truly are a Genius other doctors have given up on me but you went above & beyond the call of duty, you have given me my life back. I have read your Profile on the web page & its no wonder Dr. Nihal that you were awarded the highest Orthopaedic Qualifications in Australia by the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. You truly are the most Brilliant Surgeon I have ever known, a Real Genius. I would like to thank all the assisting doctors & nursing staff at the hospital, they were just wonderful. Your staff are second to none - Brilliant, they provide individual & personalised care to all your patients. Thank you to Kerry your right hand girl, who has exceptional skills in nursing, administration, and is full of knowledge, I love her sense of humour. A big thank you to Sarina & Courtney who are very informative & full of knowledge, always friendly & polite & are willing to go the extra mile to help. Never have I met a doctor who looks after his patients with so much care during the operation and through out the Post -Op care. Your Post - Op care golden rules are the best & if everyone follows them to the letter the results will be excellent. I heartily recommend Dr. Nihal to anyone who is looking for the best Foot & Ankle Surgeon in Australia. Sincerely, Ian Girvan

My wife had a terrible fall and broke her tibia, fibia and shattered her ankle into small pieces....indeed a very distressing and traumatic injury. This was such a distressing time for her but the great thing is that she was referred to Dr. Nihal who reconstructed her foot and ankle and set her up for a timely recovery. It has been less than 4 months and she is now weight bearing and in a very positive mindset. Not only is Dr Nihal a great surgeon (and we can see why he has a wonderful reputation) he is such a genuinely caring person who invests his time in ensuring the best outcome for the patient. His 'go to' girl Kerry is such a wonderful person and she demonstrates excellent care for the patients and has a great manner leaving my wife very positive about the outcome. Likewise, the office staff are lovely and most helpful and a real pleasure to deal with. Dr Nihal is rightly very assertive with his recommendations about recovery and if the patient listens and follows his instructions the outcome will be great as it has been for us. Thanks so much to a great Doctor and wonderful staff as the outcome would certainly have been a whole lot less positive if we were getting assistance elsewhere. We can not speak highly enough of the good doctor and his very caring staff....can only rate to 5 but it really is a 10. Thanks Max & Lorraine

Not sure where all these good reviews are coming from. Maybe some kind of scam? Dr Nihal's medical advice to me was to give up sport for life (at the age of 25) and learn chess. Despite having a complex injury he advised me no treatment other than bi-yearly surveillance scans.

Dr Nihal did an amazing job reconstructing both of my ankles in a period of 2 years. He is great at what he does and following his instructions is all you have to do to be good as new. It is a long process but having an excellent surgeon and perseverance during rehab is what is needed to come good. I seriously cannot recommend Dr Nihal enough. He is a the best ankle and foot specialist here on the Gold Coast.

What an amazing Dr. Can't speak highly enough of him. He's an excellent surgeon and is very caring. I was first referred to him by my GP after my tendon in my ankle was torn by a steroid needle by an imaging mob. An operation was required to replace the tendon and my heel had to be broken as my foot become very deformed. Plates and screws were inserted. The operation went very well. After 2 weeks at home recuperating, I got an infection. I was required to go to the surgery straight away. I never made it home from this appointment. I was admitted straight back into hospital and was operated on that very afternoon, with no charge. The care I received was exceptional by Dr Nihal and his assistant, Kerrie. After 9 days I was allowed to go home and never looked back. I have had a number of follow up appointments, including today. Dr Nihal couldn't believe at how well things had gone after the setback. I have hardly any scars and am now in my favourite footwear - thongs. Follow Dr Nihal's instructions and you won't look back. Thanks Dr Nihal, I can't express enough of how grateful I am for your excellent care. And you haven't finished with me yet. You certainly are amazing. Thanks ever so much. JD

I’m a 39-year-old active male with a right ankle that has been annihilated over that past few decades. I went in for a routine ankle reconstruction under the knife of Dr Nihal. The surgery all went to plan. Dr Nihal was kind and in good humour. Four days after my surgery, I fell very ill while recovering at home. I called Dr Nihal’s office and explained my symptoms to his receptionist. Dr Nihal called me back and urged me to go to the emergency room because my symptoms seemed unrelated to my ankle surgery. I ended up in intensive care for the next five days and after numerous tests, they revealed that I had a tumour on my pituitary gland at the base of my brain. I was sent home after the medication stabilised my cortisol levels, but the steroid medication depleted my immune system, and subsequently, my ankle became infected. Dr Nihal operated on my infected ankle eight hours after he inspected my ankle, and I was under his care for just over another week. During this time he went above and beyond to ensure I recovered well. He also introduced me to a neurosurgeon that he recommended. She operated on me the day after Dr Nihal gave my ankle the all clear from my infection. After the neurosurgery and I was finally sent home two days before Christmas. It’s near a year on and thankfully I have fully recovered. Reflecting on my time under Dr Nihal’s care I felt compelled to write this review. He has simple guidelines to follow to mitigate the chance of infection – follow his rules to avoid going under the knife again to clean the wound. He gave me much more information and tentative care than every doctor that I encountered over my five-and-half weeks in hospitals. And most importantly, my ankle is stable and back in form. Thank you, Dr Nihal and staff. TF

Dr Nihal has performed two surgeries on my feet in the past 6 months. He did such an amazing job, he has made them look normal again and I have pretty much no scaring on either foot. From start to finish on both operations Dr Nihal Excelled in Patient Care. I found him to be very professional, so kind and considerate, he really went above and beyond of what I expected of a surgeon. If I had to give him a rating out of ‘ten’ it would be either ‘11’or ‘12.
