Ratings for Dr. Aneel Nihal
I first visited Dr Nihal with a badly broken ankle which was initially poorly treated by another hospital's emergency ward. He immediately admitted me to Pindarra Hospital where I was treated extremely well. All the nursing and physio staff knew Dr Nihal and spoke very highly of him. My surgery was a complete success and the follow up appointments were timely and motivated me to continue the exercises and doing everything I was advised to do to the letter. Dr Nihal's staff work very well with him and each other and they are a pleasure to deal with. No question is a bother for them. They show empathy and humour and are efficient and very experienced. I are very grateful that I met Dr Nihal. He has helped through the most difficult times I have experienced. At the time of writing this it has been 6 months since my accident. I have had 2 surgeries including one to remove two screws in the ankle, and I am now walking perfectly. I thoroughly recommend Dr Nihal. PVP
Dr Aneel Nihal Is a great surgeon. If following his rules and recommended rehab it works well. I hadn't been able to walk very far for 9months prior to surgery and was in a lot of pain. I am very happy with the results. I have no pain and walking is becoming easier. In 9months I will be completely recovered and am looking forward to that. Dont hesitate to have surgery life becomes so much better with no pain and walking we're ever you want to go. Rated by KM
I have been beyond impressed with my experience with Dr Nihal. My first contact was with Margaret and Kerry and I was completely blown away by how helpful and kind they were. Both my treatment before and after surgery have been excellent. I knew before I went and saw Dr Nihal that the multi procedures needed to my foot were not going to be easy. His professional manner and kindness has been very reassuring and my first procedure was a huge success which I owe all to him. I also must mention that I had to have numerous incisions and I have almost no scaring. He is truly an amazing doctor that I have no hesitation in referring.
I have been a patient of Dr Nihal for a little over 4 years and I count my blessings every day that we are so fortunate to have such a wonderfully, talented Orthopedic Surgeon on the Gold Coast. I am 84 years old and have undergone surgery on 3 separate occasions with Dr Nihal. Each time was for a different complaint and every surgery has been successful. From the moment you enter Dr Nihal's rooms it is evident that he is greatly respected and appreciated by his patients. There are numerous albums and frames filled with letters of appreciation, and justly so. His staff are courteous and friendly and always willing to help. Yes, you may have to wait longer than expected but this is because Dr Nihal spends the time necessary to consult with patients. He encourages questions and is always prepared to provide answers. He demands the highest level of professionalism from his hospital ward staff and also insists on his patients following his instructions to the latter. Post surgery consultations usually involve some form of treatment (dressings etc) performed by his nurse Kerry, another Gem! I have read many of the reviews on Dr Nihal and the majority are excellent which I consider to be an accurate assessment. In regards to the comments regarding DVA patients I simply say that I am a DVA patient and NEVER during the past 4 years has Dr Nihal made mention of the costs relating to my treatment. I have met other DVA patients at his rooms who give glowing reports on his treatment also. I encourage anyone who is considering a consultation with Dr Nihal to go ahead and meet with him. Form your own opinion. Positive reviews are just that, Positive. When you see isolated Negative reviews you can be sure that there is another side to the story which isn't being told. Thank you Dr Nihal for your kindness, professionalism and most of all for helping to improve my quality of life. I will be back to my morning walks in no time!! AT
Unfortunately I have lost all confidence in Doctor Nihal and have gone to Brisbane to see Doctor Saxby who was recommended by my GP. Doctor Nihal first operated on me in 2013 for what my GP & I thought was a bunion but Doctor Nihal confirmed it was a dislocation at the left foot big toe, after lots of surgery and drama I am now going to see Doctor Saxby to see if I can get to the stage of wearing something other than sandals. Doctor Nihal presents well but I think if he has a hiccup he then goes about it in a different way , I do not blame him for the infection but I am sure it threw him a curve ball which he couldn't deal with along with other problems and I am now fed up and hopefully Doctor Saxby can rectify things to some degree .
I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Nihal. I was initially mismanaged by the public hospital system, and it was several months after the initial injury, on the recommendation by the physio that i went to Dr Nihal. I believe his management led to the positive outcome i could not have received elsewhere. He expects 100% compliance of instructions which i was totally prepared to do to gain the optimal positive outcome. His sense of humor was appreciated both at the time of surgery and post op. All the staff at the rooms were friendly and helpful, with special mentions of Kerry's friendly, knowledgeable care. The wait for your appointment is acceptable because when you do see him he focuses 100% on you and doesn't rush out of the door. DC
I've had ongoing problems after a serious MVA 40 years ago, with chronic pain and losing my mobility. In Nov 2016 I consulted Dr Nihal. His staff greeted me with kindness and understanding. Dr Nihal was caring, sincere, and straight up with me about my options, no rubbish or sugar coating, as well as very clear about the role I would need to play in my own recovery. I accepted his professional opinion for the two surgeries that gave the greatest improvement to my quality of life. The results are outstanding. Dr Nihal and his staff's aftercare was supportive and practical, and I have regained my mobility and significant reduction in pain. Having had many surgeries over the years, I know the difference between a surgeon who cares, and one who doesn't. Dr Nihal does, and I would recommend him in a heartbeat. Thank you Dr Nihal and staff. Brian C.
At first meeting Dr Nihal projected confidence that he could fix my neuropathic pain in my foot, he also had a student with him so I was fortunate to have an extended appointment. At the second appointment he discovered that I was DVA - "oh so your the DVA, your going to be my last one" he than compained that he would not make as much money from DVA and it would be better to go through insurance. The 3rd and 4th meeting prior to surgery he again commented on the amount of money he "wouldnt" make! My foot is 10 times worse following his surgery. I tried to make a follow up and he has refused to see me (he doesnt even know how his surgery went). His heart may have once been committed to his patients however he cant deny that he has ruined my foot and only concerned about $the$. He is a disgrace and a coward! You should want to learn by your mistakes instead you hide from them!!!
After low level pain in my right foot began influencing my lifestyle choices, I was fortunate to be referred to Dr Nihal. From the first encounter I found him solicitous, understanding and erudite. He listened with care to my concerns, and gave thoughtful responses. Every part of the process of rectification of my condition was given clearly and concisely. The procedure became familiar to me, as did requirements for post operative care. After care was exemplary, with many follow up appointments to ensure an excellent result. Dr Nihal is a most accomplished and talented surgeon. It was a delight to be under his care.
