I recently started seeing a new dentist and just realized the awful level of care that I was receiving with Dr. Freundlich, which prompted this review. Dr. Freundlich was my dentist for as long as I can remember. He schedules too many patients each day, so he doesn't spend adequate time with you on your appointment. As a result, he rushes through fillings etc., which leads to having to make additional appointments for him to correct what he has done, thus adding additional charges to your insurance. Most of your time will be spent waiting for him to come see you in the exam room. When he gets there, he won't spend more than 5 min talking to you before he has to see the next patient. If you have your own insurance (not state issued insurance) he likes to bleed it dry. He will max out your insurance doing procedures you don't need, or use more expensive materials when there is a cheaper alternative available, knowing that the insurance won't cover the more expensive procedure. Thereby increasing your out of pocket charges. Be sure to always read your bill and research the procedures on your invoice online. If you ask him for an explanation he will give you the textbook answer that you need a dds to understand just to confuse you. The only positive was that his front end staff and hygienists were great.

Caught Dr. Freundlich charging for services that he did not perform -- a matter confirmed by my brother, a retired dentist. On a subsequent visit, he ground down my lower front teeth without first gaining my considered permission (presumably so he could then install unneeded crowns. And finally, the necessary crown he did instal on upper molar came loose after approximately 18 months.
