Dr. Peak claimed the existence of two cavities that needed composite fillings and one faulty amalgam that needed replacement with a composite filling also. A second opinion was sought with a trusted dentist (Dr. Mark Allen) who found neither the two cavities nor the need for the amalgam in question to be replaced (an x-ray bite-wing was done on the teeth in question to verify). The unnecessary work would have cost $391 (over $700 had MetLife insurance not limited his normal rates), but the most troubling aspect is the permanent life-long alterations to teeth that are healthy. This behavior is a gross violation of basic ethics if Dr. Peak forged these claims for money. If Dr. Peak did indeed see the need for these services then his competence as a dentist is very poor. In either case, such conduct is a clear indicator that Dr. Peak's dental services should be avoided.
