Dr. Ryan E. Neilan attended The University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with Honors while obtaining a Bachelors of Science in Human Biology in just three years. He then went on to graduate Valedictorian at The University of Texas Medical Branch receiving his Medical Doctorate with Highest Honors, as well as various other academic awards. Dr. Neilan is a Mavis P. Kelsey Scholar, awarded for medical excellence. He is the current Chairman of the Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands. He completed his Residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He is the recipient of a William P. Potsic Award from the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology; and is an author in many scientific publications, including the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Neilan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of both the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy and the American Rhinologic Society, where he holds several committee positions. Dr. Neilan sits nationally on the “Rhinology and Paranasal Sinuses Committee” for the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Neilan is a former Clinical Instructor for the Department of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at UT Southwestern. He has been honored as a Vitals “Top 10 Doctor”, and received both the “Patients’ Choice Award” and “Compassionate Doctor Recognition”. Clinically he sees the breadth of general Otolaryngology, with a particular interest in Rhinology/Allergy/Endoscopic Sinonasal Surgery as well as Pediatric Otolaryngology. Dr. Neilan cares for adults and children at both of our Woodlands locations.
