I must say that I am pretty surprised to read some negative reviews about Diana. I have been a patient of hers for 6 years now and have followed her to during office changes. At one point, even driving an hour and a half to see her. Luckily, she is now much closer. Compared to other doctors/CRNPs that I have seen in the last, Diana is very down to earth and easy to talk to. It takes some trial and error with meds but I do believe she is very knowledgable and educated in her field. I am always able to get an appointment quickly and never feel like just a number. She has helped me a lot over the years and for that I am very thankful. I definitely recommend her.

I was seen once by Diana. At this time she placed me on 20mg Adderall twice a day. First visit. I was never able to secure a second appointment. As a medical professional this was sub par. Each appoint that was made (4 in total) was cancelled for some reason or another. The first was that she had hurt her knee but would be in the following day. The next day this was cancelled and was scheduled the following week. The day of the appointment I was told via text from Diana that there was a death in the family and that she would need to reschedule to for the following day (even though in our first appointment she told me that in the previous year basically anyone of consequence in her family had already passed). The following day I started the day with a text to diana knowing what the result will be. It was a cancellation. At this point I was now out of the very addictive medicine that she placed me on the first time we met. This medicine is strictly controlled and must have a written prescription accompanying it, without an office visit how can one attain that??? Once I told Diana that I was very uncomfortable with her level of professionalism, the defensive mechanisms kicked in with excuses. I said that I turned down a slot in an established practice because I wanted a more 1 on 1 approach. This however was a 1 on 0, I was left to flounder with no guidance. I'm now off all meds and can't get an appointment for at least two months, I guess this is a busy time of year for crazy. I ran out of the lexapro I was on before seeing her that she pawned off refilling on the first appointment because, and I quote, " that isn't a controlled substance, I can call that in." The one review on this site is so spot on. Our entire first appointment was all about her and how she compared her "ADHD" symptoms to mine. I know all about how she met her husband, what the composition of her family is, etc. This appointment was 2 hours long. I said maybe 8 complete sentences. The rest was just her roominating on her past, how she wasn't always in the body shape that she currently has. I could expand on this for days. I'm not worried about anything I'm saying being considered libel, I have ever text and all the notes I took from our only appointment. Unlike the reviewer below, I do not wish her the best, sometimes a D student should be quelled from the talent pool. And if my writing saves on someone else experiencing the torment of withdrawal from very potent drugs prescribed by a novice, then this comment was worth it.

Diana Gummo is a CRNP who practices in the field of psychiatry. She is limited in her ability to diagnose accurately based on her expertise and training. She has worked in conjunction with psychiatrists that she can call upon when needing advice in treating patients. However, in my sessions with her she spent much of her time talking about her own issues. I understand that the practice of medicine is not without it's drawbacks and although Diana Gummo can be a compassionate and caring individual she is not a psychiatrist. I had more success with my therapist and family doctor who questioned the amount of medications that I was taking while under Diana Gummo's care. The medical system of treating patients is often limited to one area rather than treating the whole person. This is especially true of the mental health field. I wish Ms. Gummo the best, however I do not advocate the use of CRNP's as primary care providers in the field of mental health.
