No discussion with the patient about what might be wrong (headaches for three days). Asked only basic questions about whether there was fever or vomiting. He was about to prescribe a drug for a headache and did not ask whether patient was breastfeeding (infant baby in the room with the patient). When the patient questioned whether the drug was OK when breastfeeding, he did not know, did not know how to look it up, and then had to ring through to someone else. Did not leave the patient with confidence in his diagnosis (actually, there was no diagnosis, he just printed out a prescription for panadeine and handed it to the patient).
