Ratings for Dr. Donald L. Erb
I went to Dr. Erb in 2015 for Right sciatica. I had 2 sessions of epideral injections and was pain free until 2 months ago when the sciatica came back on my left side. I went again and was told I needed injections on my left side. I was told that someone would call me within 3 days to schedule an appointment for the epiderals. It's been 8 days now and no one has called me even after leaving a voice message. If your looking for quick help this is not the Dr.you want to go to.
Dr. Erb has been every bit as good as my pain management doctor in NY. Two years ago, when I came to Sarasota I was not used to the way offices were run in Florida. I thought that each visit would be with my doctor not with a Nurse Practioner. When I stated that I did not to see a NP on my visits and that I wanted to see Dr Erb, I have subsequently only seen Dr Erb. I may have to wait a little longer for an appointment (3 or4 days, at the most) but I see Dr Erb. He also listens to my issues with companishion and does not push pills. He makes suggestions and listens to my concerns we then discuss a course of treatment. Doctors are not mind readers and patients need to take responsibility for their own treatment. Doctors, also, cannot be blamed for either Medicare or workmen's compansation rules. They, like us, have to live within the federal or state guidelines. I would recommend him without question.
My husband has been a patient of Dr. Erbs for 3 years .He takes his time in explaining the reasons for his pain Never gives meds that are not necessary. He is a very compassionate doctor. His pain clinic is NOT a pill mill. If that's what you want go elsewhere.
After two visits, while transferring my care from Ft Myers due to distance, Dr Erb "threw me under the bus" when the law changed for Tramadol from unscheduled to scheduled. It turns out the my former treator, Pain Managemet in Ft Myers, wrote a three month scripy for Tramadol.. After seeing Dr Erb two times, and when the lew changed my script came un fillable because it was written by a nurse practicioner, Dr Erb would not
I have only wonderful things to say about this entire office. Dr Herb and his PA Vicky have benn nothing but compassionate to me pain needs. If you are having a problem with this office, it must be because you created one. I formerly saw Dr. Callahan, who took her own life in a botched divorce and was so fearful that I would not find a doctor to replace her. I have waited a bit longer than I would like at my appointments, but when it is my turn, I am thoroughly listened to. Some patients just have more issues than others. I too had workers comp and then disability paperwork to be filled out by Dr. Herb, and have experienced no problems in that area. As for the previous post about Dr. Her pushing injections on his patients, you have a right to refuse them. I have had several injections done, but was never forced to get them. I feel very fortunate to have found this practice after loosing my former Dr.
Dr. Erb needs to go back raise his hand and take the oath and mean it this time. Shouldn't his patients be a priority!! Mr. Erb treated me for almost two years, with no problems, even though 99% of the time I was being treated by his assistant. He diagnosed me with RSD and I was receiving treatment, but after all that time, he decided to do a 360 degree turn and change his diagnosed after speaking with the WC attorney. He is just another so called doctor that should be added to the hall of shame. Doctors bought at the expense of patients that really need treatment.
