Found Dr Winegardner accepted Tri-Care around 2004 maybe? Went to her every since until the Affordable Health Care kicked in. Nothing against her or the practice, not their fault....just the new military jargon way of having 2c a civilian doctor and red tape I just couldn't understand nor the new fees. She has a kinda no-nonsense demeanor, takes her practice and clients seriously. Yet personable and friendly. Never felt awkward, uncomfortable. Entire staff was like fam. Her office manager handled paperwork, questions, feedback with knowledge and courteous professional manner. I highly recommend this office for that more than a patient feel! Doc Lin and her staff were just fine for me!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Wingardner for 10 years. Would not change. Definitely a family feel, conscientious, honest and available! No assembly line treatment for me.

My wife and I have been patient saw Dr. Winegarden there for more than 15 years. We have found her to be very knowledgeable and very attentive to the concerns that we bring to her office. The staff is well-trained and friendly. Refine Dr. Winegardner to represent what a family practice should be today, in the age of impersonal, corporate medicine. We highly recommend her and her staff.

Unfortunately, Dr. Winegardner does come off as money driven not patient driven. But my experience was not money driven as much as there was obvious disorganization within the office structure, not to mention a "TRUST" the doctor, when she says something is a particular way. Huge red flag for me. I also had to wait almost an hour to see Dr. Winegardner even though I was on time for my appointment. Dr. Winegarder did not have an office full of patients when I was there either. I only visited once, but I will never go back again.

Dr. Linda S. Winegardner

Dr. Linda S. Winegardner's response
This comment is in response to the patient's comment on July 22nd, 2015 on this site and several others. The "money driven" comment is totally unjustified. The only time money was discussed was when the patient was asked for her $20 co-pay! The unwarranted attacks by this patient on our medical practice is absolutely unfair and does not represent the excellent care this patient was provided and would have continued to have been provided if she would have allowed us to address the multiple problems that she brought with her to this one and only encounter (it took an hour to process this new patient in with the multiple typed pages of single spaced lines problems she presented to our medical team). Without violating the patient's privacy, there were three issues that immediately concerned Dr. Winegardner. Two of those issues required imaging and specialist care. Both of these services required her insurance company's prior approval. Those approvals were requested in a very timely manner and the insurance company responded within their guidelines for non-emergent care. Since the patient came in late Thursday, much of the insurance company's approvals did not occur until the following week even though we had started them in a timely manner. We received her lab work back and did a review and notified her of the results on Tuesday morning. We also notified her that the insurance authorizations were pending and that we would notify her as soon as we received them and had scheduled the specialist and imaging. On Wednesday, the patient sent a message to Dr. Winegardner telling us she no longer wanted us to provide her care and to cancel all of the appointments we were working on to provide her that care! She left our care after six days with the Doctor's heartfelt encouragement to follow-up with a new provider as soon as possible. Then one month after we put so much into her care, she writes this review! Not sure what set her off but we did an excellent job with her care. We do know what we are doing and regret that the patient chose to malign us in this way instead of making an effort to understand the processes required by her insurance and health system. This patient raised a lot of "Red Flags" on various aspects of her care but we did our best to take her issues seriously and treat her with respect. We wish her well in her ongoing search for a doctor that she can work with in addressing her multiple problems. Practice Manager.

It is unfortunate that this site does not allow medical practices to offer a different perspective on difficult patient encounters. The four encounters below occurring over three years have one thing in common - high deductibles. Dr. Winegardner cares for thousands of patients a year and has very few complaints. When there is a problem, it usually involves money - imagine that! As a person living a middle class life, I get that but when someone provides a professional service and then asks for payment under the terms of the patient's insurance, that is reasonable. And when the practice manager holds his ground on requesting a fair payment (below that of the larger medical institutions), the practice is lambasted on the internet. There is no winning with these people - do what they say or I will damage your reputation on line. We trust the majority of visitors to this doctor rating site will be able to read through the complaints and understand how the economic dynamics of today's heathcare can generate such comments.

I should have paid attention to some of these reviews, and also feedback from a friend about the poor treatment received by this doctors office manager. The office manager is severely lacking in customer service and communication skills. Seems more concerned about how to stay in business, and discussing that with patients. Very inappropriate, and in my opinion very unprofessional. I really liked Dr. Winegardner herself, and I was hopeful after our visit that I had found a provider who really could address my needs, and a provider who was able to address my primary care needs as well as support my desire for complimentary medicine, and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Unfortunately, I ran into a similar issues regarding billing and insurance and clear disregard and recollection for conversations had about the purpose for my visit. After the poor treatment I received from the office manager on two occasions, I just will not return. It's really too bad. I believe she's probably a really good doctor. Wishing you all the best Dr. Winegardner, however you may really want to consider a change in office management in order to retain your patients. As the previous writer suggested...do yourself a favor and keep searching.....

Dr. Linda S. Winegardner

Dr. Linda S. Winegardner's response
There was a fair amount of confusion surrounding what the patient wanted to address - a general physical (wellness) or a non-wellness issue. One went against the patient's deductible (non-wellness) and the other was covered at 100% (wellness). The patient seemed to be trying to mix the two to her pocket book's advantage (very understandable but could result in insurance fraud for the practice). I regret that I was unable to communicate this issue more effectively to the patient. Practice Manager.

My experience was they billed me for services that they didn't perform. After I called to find out why I was being billed for the service, they actually added details to my chart to support the fictitious billing rather than reverse the charge. I have filed an insurance fraud charge against Dr. Winegardner. Do yourself a favor and keep searching.

Dr. Linda S. Winegardner's response
The patient's insurance agreed the charges were appropriate. We tried to explain the fees associated with the service but the patient did not accept the explanation. High deductibles often interfere with a patient's understanding of care provided.
