Ratings for Dr. Charlene Chan
I went to her because of great reviews but the review on December 23 2012 is very similar to my experience. The first visit was great as she seemed to be listening to the issues but I feel I could have gotten better help from a supplement store staff.
I have been seeing Dr. Chan for approximately 10 years now. Initially I saw her regarding irregularities with my menstrual cycle. Dr. Chan worked with me to figure out the cause of the irregularities and was able to help me have a regular menstrual cycle by addressing the cause (a hormone imbalance that wasn't being helped by traditional birth control pills). Her recommended treatment was a change in diet to support normal hormonal function as well as an initial supplement, which I followed. I have since returned to see her for various other issues, most recently for food sensitivities. She is able to test for sensitivities to a wide range of things, foods, pollen, household chemicals, hormones, etc. She then uses naturopathic therapies to help address those sensitivities, and allow me to eat those foods again. Dr. Chan draws on her knowledge of naturopathic and traditional Chinese medicine. I appreciate that she doesn't treat symptoms, but seeks the cause of the symptoms and treats the problem/issue that is causing the symptoms to present; thus preventing the symptoms from recurring. I have also taken both of my sons to see her (almost 2 years old, and 4.5 years old). She has helped treat their eczema, allergies, and helped us to prevent recurrent ear infections. She has been excellent with them, and they are both very comfortable with her. She has worked with us, alongside our GP, to help us optimize our health.
I was suffering from a chronic sinus infection since I was 8. I even had a sinus surgery followed by a year of antibiotic treatment but that didn't help much. I stumbled on the post on my friend's Facebook page in which someone talked about Dr. Chen from Ray clinic and the "magic" shed did with fixing his father's heart problems. I decided to give it a try. The first meeting was an hour long and it concentrated on diagnostics. I was blown away by the findings (apparently you can have too many carrots) and had little faith in the whole procedure, but decided to give it a go. I followed the instruction religiously and after two weeks I saw some improvements, but nowhere near the "miracle" outcome I was hoping for. After second treatment the things started dramatically changing. My sinus problem was almost non existent, but I also had some unexpected benefits affecting my high blood pressure. It went from 160-110 to 135-89. "Miracle" finally happened, but it was not miracle. As Dr. Chen described to me it is just energy that was off balance and with the treatment the better flow is established. What I also like about the treatment is that it actually allows you to go back and eat foods that you like but in the smaller quantities. So your quality of life is not affected and yet you are cured. After my experience with Dr. Chen I lost confidence in traditional western medicine and do not go to my family doctor anymore. I highly recommend Dr. Chen to anyone that have any medical issue and not just the ones that "tried everything". She will actually cure you!
Dr Charlene Chang is an awesome Naturopath. She opened our eyes in regards to how food affects our body. Our meeting with her was specifically for my daughter who seemed to be reacting negatively to certain types of food. She performed a comprehensive test on our daughter and was able to give us a list of food that our daughter should eat or not eat. Following the list Definitely made a difference! I recommend her to anyone looking for a professional and knowledgeable Naturopath in the Lower Mainland.
Dr. Chan is extremely thorough with her assessment, educated, kind and she always goes beyond what is expected of her. I've been seeing her for one year now and she has helped me with my allergies, getting my health on track to get pregnant and helping me through my pregnancy. I know of 6 other people who see her and they have all had success with her. She has helped my husband and I to find out why we couldn't get pregnant when the Fertility Clinic couldn't and she has helped me through the pregnancy more than my own midwife. She will make time for you if she feels she needs to see you and she will let you know if you don't need to see her for a while. I've been to other accupunturists who did nothing for me and who would not take the time to learn what was going on with my body. She truly loves what she does and I highly recommend her. Thank you Dr. Chan for your continuous support with my husband and I.
I am very grateful for having Dr. Chan as our family Doctor. My children and I have been seeing her for only seven months now and for such a short period of time she was able to find out the root cause and help my children for immune issues - compare to past four years , my two boys were constantly on antibiotics. I don't have enough words to say THANK YOU Dr. Chan for being exceptional Doctor, with outstanding knowledge , very caring by answering all of the questions and emails. I honestly and heartfully recommend Dr. Chan everyone in need for overall health .
I began seeing Dr. Chan several years ago when I was battling the early stages of menopause, which included severe insomnia, fatigue, and general malaise. I had also been dealing with a chronic autoimmune disease for 15 years. I found Dr. Chan caring, attentive, knowledgeable, and highly intuitive -- in short, a dream doctor. I'd seen other naturopaths in the past, but I'd never had such a transformative experience. What's more, she was able to help me so much in 30 to 60 minutes, unlike other naturopaths that send you away with supplements and a strict diet plan and the expectation you help yourself. Naturopathic medicine has a strong component of self-healing, but this can be overwhelming for the truly unwell. With Dr. Chan and the doctors at Ray Clinic, the goal is to put you on a path to wellness -- as quickly and as ably as possible. I'm truly grateful for the care I received and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Chan to anyone committed to feeling well and being well.
I've been seeing Dr.Chan for years now. She is very helpful and goes out of her way to study individual conditions. I had gone through carbon monoxide poisoning and depression as well as psychosis. I honestly don't know how I would be living my life happy and healthy now if it were not for her. I recommend her to anyone I care about.
Dr. Chan is a wonderful naturopath. My husband and I have been seeing her for quite a few years for immune and digestive issues and recently she helped us through our fertility issues and we now have a beautiful baby boy! We are now taking him to see her for BIE - food/vaccination intolerences and she is great with him. She is caring, really listens to you, answers your questions and emails. I have learned a great deal from her and value her as my doctor. I have and would recommend her to anyone.
I've been seeing Dr.Chan for 3 years now. She is an amazing Dr. She's very knowledgable and caring. I saw Dr.Chan throughout my pregnancy and after a few miscarriages I carried my son to 39 weeks. She also sees my son and helped him with his dairy allergy. I recommend her to anyone in need of a naturopath/acupuncturist.
