Ratings for Dr. Jim Norman
I would highly recommend Dr Norman and his staff to anyone with Hyperparathyroidism. They are in a league of their own in terms of knowledge, expertise, and professionalism. I felt I was in very safe and caring hands and everyone was friendly and welcoming. I traveled from the UK to have this surgery done after reading the comprehensive information available on Dr Norman's website. It became clear to me very quickly that my Endocrinologist in the UK did not have up to date knowledge of my condition and that the surgery I would receive would be inferior to the care I would receive at the Norman Parathyroid Center. I can't thank Dr Norman and his team enough for what they have done for me.
Go to Parathyroid.com. Read it all. It is exactly the truth and experience we had. It was amazing ! All nurses, doctors, and staff took perfect care of my husband. After months of suffering the last surgeon took a good gland. Later she said she thinks she took 2 glands and they were both normal which she never mentioned.!!!. Our endocrinologist had to tell us! 😳 Surgery took 2.5 hours and a night in the hospital. It took 10 days for him to recover. We kept only getting to see PA after surgery. My husband is still sick and suffering. I called and called the last surgeon and she finally said he needed another surgery. At that point we had a couple of good referrals to go to Norman Parathyroid. We were told if we NEVER wanted to deal with this again then go to Norman Parathyroid. We were a bit skeptical. We go to Florida and he goes in at 6:00. Surgery itself took about 20 minutes. They found a huge tumor and confirmed he was now cured from Hypothroidism. We leave at 1:00 PM. We go back to the hotel and he naps for 1.5 hours. We get up and go to pool. Then go and have a wonderful dinner. The next day we went to a spring training game in the afternoon NY vs Detroit! Go back to hotel, go to pool, then go have a fabulous steak dinner at Ruth Chris. We had a fabulous little vacation! We go home Thursday, plays golf Friday. Saturday he plays in a golf tournament. He comes in 3rd! Ha ha ha. He is at work on Monday. His life has improved 100% which makes mine that much better too. I am telling you to run to Norman Parathyroid Center., If you have any parathyroid issues of any kind!! We loved Dr. Norman, Dr. Nuan, and Dr. Parrack were my husband’s surgeons . Yes, they have 3 in the operating room. It is all true. Don’t go any where else!
After years of suffering, I had surgery at another facility. It resulted in that surgeon removing a healthy parathyroid and leaving the tumor. I researched and found Dr. Norman. He was amazing. He not only removed the bad parathyroid, he also cleaned up the old scar and mess the other surgeon left. I am so grateful for Dr. Norman and his team!
After years of suffering I found the Norman Parathyriod Center. Dr Norman was very determined to help me. This was my second surgery and I ended up having a second tumor that was missed during the first surgery(different doctor). What was unique about my case is that I had normal calcium and high Parathyriod hormone. I couldn't get any doctors to listen to me for 7 years but Dr Norman did and promised to help me. I'm so incredibly grateful for being given my life back. The whole staff is phenomenal.
Dr. Norman and his staff changed my life! I only wish there was a way to make more PCP'S aware of the correct way to diagnose and treat hyperparathyroidism. Too many people suffer needlessly because their doctor is unaware of Dr. Norman's research and expertise in the field.
If your doctor tells you that a blood calcium level higher than 10.0 is normal (over the age of 40), get another doctor, then contact the Norman Parathryoid Center in Tampa, FL. For 4 years I listened to my primary care doctor tell me that my blood calcium levels of 10.1-10.4 were normal, while I suffered with hyperparathyroidism. After being diagnosed with osteoporosis and still working with a doctor that thought nothing was wrong despite all the red flags pointing to hyperparathryoidism, I got online and found Dr. Norman and his fantastic, knowledgeable team. Be your own doctor! Just 5 days ago I had 3.5 tumorous parathyroids removed. I immediately felt no bone pain once I recovered from surgery. Doctors Politz, Boone and Parrack did what I learned most other endocrinologists do not do and tested my other parathyroids once they found the first bad one, saving me another operation down the road. Anyone diagnosed with hyperparathryoidism should just save themselves a lot of time from dealing with doctors who only do this operation periodically, and work with doctors who do only this operation all day long. It was worth me traveling to Florida from North Carolina to have an expert surgical team work on me. I am not sure how other doctors do not realize that NO ONE should have blood calcium levels about 10.0, but Dr. Norman and his team knew that. Work with the best. Dr. Norman and the doctors at the Norman Parathyroid center in Tampa, FL are the best.
May be this great doctor is not famous enough but to know that his center did more than 35000 parathyroid surgeries, you well comfortable. Simply dr norman diagnosed me and I get my tumor removed in 13 minutes...wow. He and his team are top notch in this field in other words no one like them
