Ratings for Dr. Blair Drover
I’ve been seeing Dr. Drover for many years, he’s knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and very thorough. The wait times are a bit long but I always bring a book:) His receptionist leaves much to be desired however, she’s rude, condescending, and insufferable. In the words of today’s youth, the woman is “salty”, how she’s been working there for so long, I’ll never know. Her bookkeeping and appointment making skills seem pretty good, but her interpersonal skills stink.
Dr. Drover is a genuinely caring, friendly physician. HOWEVER, his practice overbooks to an absurd, even unethical degree. In ten years, I seldom, if ever, waited less than ninety minutes to be seen. When I very politely confronted him with my concerns, he flippantly retorted that it's not his fault people get sick. My current doctor, by comparison, has never kept me waiting for more than ten minutes. This disparity, I hate to say, can only be explained by monetary greed. Indeed, his continued refusal to rectify this problem is an insult to any patient constrained by parental and professional responsibilities.
Someone needs to INVESTIGATE how this doctor works. but do NOT bother looking for an Ombudsman of health in NFLD, we do NOT have one. and do not bother calling the Office of Doctors and Physicians to complain, because THAT is where you have to call. it is a joke as well. all they say is " you don't want your Doctor to Fire you " so your complaints are Validated with a threat of having NO medical care. Welcome to Nfld.... and its " sick " health care system.
Dr. Drover is the slowest and unreliable doctor. You first are waiting at least a week to get in to see him, then he is 1 to 1 1/2 hr behind, then he takes his time chatting with patuients for 20 plus minutes. He has no set schedule...everything is done on his time and your are gonna wait. He needs to man up abd realize that the patients book an appointment for a reason not togo there and vegatate. The tall long hair receptionist at main desk is a rude, loud, obnoxious BEEP and the glamazon in the office who thinks she is that high and mighty that know is above her is just as bad. Their is some much back biting, negative talk as well as complete and utterly rudiance about. Those two needs to go to a class to upgrade there skills of dealing with the public. The brown hair girl i very rarely hears anything negative, she always smiling, interacting with patients both on phone and in person. She also tries to do her best with the situation she is in with my doctor which is Dr. Drover. She still mananges to get work done i think they do cannt see behind counter. The building needs to be cleaned as it reeks of mold and stall water. Needs elevator or chair lift for the elderly patients as three flights of stairs now a days is ridiculous with out assitance for handicap or elderly. I do hope that drover wises up and starts thinking of his patients and not himself as that is why he went to medical to help his patients not having their blood pressure get worse by waintin. There that is my vent for the day.
Excellent doctor, helpful and extremely knowledgable. If it were not for his obnoxiously loud, rude, completely ignorant receptionist, who doesn't know the first thing about customer service, he would be my first choice. However, it is not worth the overly long wait, having to deal with the receptionist first.
Good doctor but always way behind. Fairly opinionated but that sometimes might be a good thing. Not as thorough as he should be. Does not know much about my special condition and although I have been a patient of his and had this serious condition for 13 plus years, he is still uneducated about it. Like 30 minutes in the web and he could know so much more about the condition. Helpful - Yes.
Dr Drover is a five star doctor. His wait times are a little longer in office but they are most definitely worth it. His receptionist is also the worst, grumpy and rude, but she too is worth the five minutes of putting up with her to see this doctor. I have been to many doctors in my lifetime, and Dr. Drover is definitely the most knowledgable I have ever met. My family has no idea what we will do when he retires, no one else on this city is simply good enough to replace him.
