Biography
Dr. Kate Durnin began her academic journey at the University of Alberta where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree, specializing in Kinesiology and graduating with distinction. Her interest in manual therapy and sports medicine led her to continue her education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Here she obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, graduated with clinic honors and received the Gilbert H. Young Memorial Award for clinical proficiency, graduating with the highest clinical internship academic standing in her class. Dr. Kate is also a certified Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Provider (McMaster University), a Full Body certified Active Release Techniques Practitioner (ART®), Webster Techniques certified (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association), a certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms), a Kinesio Taping practitioner, and has taken numerous courses in Graston Techniques, Orthotic fittings, Activator Methods, and perinatal and infant care. She has a strong belief in life-long continuing education and continues to expand and master her clinical skills through various manual therapy, exercise, and rehabilitative courses and seminars. Dr. Kate practices an evidence-based, functional and diversified model of care; her individualized patient care consists of numerous types of therapies, treatment approaches, and exercise rehabilitation to get her patients back to feeling better and performing optimally. She enjoys treating families, Crossfit competitors, fitness enthusiasts and athletes of all levels, and she thrives on getting each and every patient performing at their best – whether that is in the workplace, at home, or in a sports event. As a mother herself, Dr. Kate has a strong passion for treating expectant mothers, new moms, infants and youth, and she continually strives to empower and help her expectant patients have the healthiest and most comfortable pregnancy and labor journey possible; as well as ensuring that their little ones have the best start to life. Dr. Kate is the co-owner of Peak Health & Performance with her husband, Dr. Evan. They started the clinic from scratch in 2012 and have quickly become one of the biggest manual therapy clinics in Calgary. Their clinic philosophy is fewer appointments, lasting results; meaning that they pride themselves in longer appointments of focused one-on-one patient attention, with more therapy per visit, and greater results in less time.

Dr. Kate is simply the best! I've been to a few chiropractors over the years, trying to fix my SI joint. From the first time I walked into Peak Helath and Performance, I knew I was at the right place. Expert knowledge, care and curtesy. From the front counter, to the massage therapist and Dr Kate herself, you will not find a better clinic to get you back on track, with fewer visit. I highly recommend Dr. Kate and her clinic.
