I just read a review by a woman who described having laser plus schlerotherapy at this clinc back in 2015. The rebuttal states that she had not listened to protocol and that 2 year later when she still had dark veins and went to Montreal where they resolved the issues, that it was her fault that her legs were damaged in Toronto. Wrong. I had the exact same experience with this "clinic" years ago, so it is nice to hear that people are speaking up, and hopefully they are not continuing to get away with their incompetency. An incompetent young nurse performed schlerotherapy and laser all at once by their choice on my the first session. Result: swollen, damaged veins worse than before. 6 months later no improvement. I went to Ottawa as there is a specialist there and after every treatment saw improvement, so if he tells you it has to get dramatically worse before it gets better that is not true. Run don't walk from this "Doctor" and his incompetent staff.

The Vein Institute of Toronto has updated facilities for the vein treatment. The Institute has only one doctor, who performs only large and problematic veins. All other jobs about the vein problems perform a nurse. That is very similar situation in the western India where the government nurses perform the doctor jobs. According to the Omega lab in Quebec sclerosing agent can be use only under strict medical supervision, preferably by a physician accustomed to sclerosing techniques. The price for the nurse perform must be paid as job did some high trained medical professional. The nurse do her best but the doctor never check what is done. Question is, does the Health of Canada check the private medical practitioner?

I was at your clinic a few hours ago. At the time, I did not say anything. The receptionist yelled at a patient. It was not the patient who said anything but the receptionist was resentful about a prior incident. The fact that your receptionist can behave in such a disrespectful manner to patients shows that they feel they can get away with it and you won't be coaching them. They are abusive to patients who voice concerns. Your quality patient care starts with the receptionist. Trust is build at the door. I am a front line worker.This isn't about that. Patients should not be treated without dignity and humiliated in front of others.

I saw Dr. Kundu at the beginning of 2020 for a sclerotherapy treatment on a forehead vein. He told me the procedure was relatively safe as it was a saline solution. After the injection I felt a throbbing on my skull which he attributed to general swelling. It was by far the worst headache of my life. I was then in bed for two days straight with blurry vision and disorientation. The side of my face felt like it was on fire. Two days later I emailed the doctor to tell him it was infected. He claimed it wasn’t. The next day I assured him it was and that I knew what a steph infection looked like (had a couple in the past). He ignored my concerns again. The day after I went to the ER where I spent two days. The infection was so severe that just touching it sent searing pain up my head. It was oozing with pus and they thought it was MRSA (it wasn’t). The ER doctor couldn’t believe how “negligent” he was. I emailed him to let him know I was at the ER. Instead of emailing me back or calling me he had his receptionist call me and then disappeared entirely. As a result of his injection and failure to catch the injection early I’ve lost 1/5th of the hair on my head and have been left with a disfiguring scar on my scalp. I also have scarring and hyperpigmentation down the side of my face. Because the skin may have a level of necrosis a FUE transplant may not help. It is likely permanent and as you can imagine this is devastating. To date I’ve never heard from him to follow up or any sort of apology. I have met with an injury attorney to discuss the case and the lack of standard of care. Between future surgeries and treatments (which may not work) I will easily be out $15,000. I HIGHLY advise you to go elsewhere. It is obvious the injection wasn’t done properly (and I understand things happen) but in my opinion this is a doctor that will run for the hills when you’re in trouble. A horrifying experience. I have been going to Dr Kundu's Clinic for the last 5 yrs. Dr Kundu was very detailed in explaining treatment options and techniques. His staff are amazing and very professional. I have been getting my veins treated with sclerotherapy and laser. I couldn't happier with the results. I'm so happy to be wearing skirts and dresses again!! I would certainly recommend The Vein Institute of Toronto to anyone looking to get their legs treated . Cathy V

I don’t recommend this Doctor or The Vein Institute. What people need to know and be very aware of is when you are having treatment for facial spider veins the D940 SkinPulse S Laser does not always work. You may not have any results. This was me. And you will sign a ‘waiver’ at the onset basically agreeing that you may not have any results after spending $2-300 or more per session. It’s a _____shoot. One of the technicians there told me that there are many patients who don’t get a result when I asked if I was the only one. My advice to you is after 2 sessions if you don’t see any improvement WALK AWAY and KISS this Dr and his Clinic good-bye because Dr Kundu and his team will never recommend the same. It’s a money sucker and I believe this is how they operate. It can be a con job. They want you to keep coming and spending. You keep going and paying and hoping. For how long? In my case things just got worse. 13 months later, hundreds of dollars out of pocket, booking unpaid time off work, back and forth travelling to the clinic the facial veins actually became redder as they increased the dosage from the machine trying to get rid of them. Yes they do become redder after treatment but it is supposed to settle down after 6 weeks. Not so in my case. My key area of facial veins is now redder than when I started over a year ago and the skin is rough to the touch. At some point (2 visits as I recommended) you need to sever the relationship with the Dr and clinic and come to grips with the fact that you have flushed your hard earned cash down the toilet and wasted your time. The Dr is only available early mornings before 9am something like twice a month and if you want to meet with him with a grievance he is booked solid a month or more in advance and is always running late. My last appointment with him he was running 1 hour late. His staff said he was running 15 minutes late. I expressed dissatisfaction in 2 of such appointments but at no time did Dr Kundu offer me a refund for lack of results. My peeve is that the technician at my consultation said she could get rid of my facial spider veins no problem. Dr Kundu said he was sorry on my last visit when we agreed there was nothing else he could do for me. I would like my money back at the very least but sueing him for it would cost me more than the amount itself. I have moved on but from a customer service standpoint Dr Kundu should have eagerly told his front desk to credit my Visa for my money spent at his clinic. My name is Kathleen Henderson.

I have went to Dr Kundu’s clinic on a few occasions in hopes to get rid of my varicose/spider veins. My first time was 4 yrs ago. I had a referral from my family MD so I did not have to pay for my initial consultation with the Dr. At the initial consultation he evaluated my issue and has done the ultrasound to rule out the Venus reflux. I was informed I didn’t have the Venus reflux but would need 2-3 sclerotherapy/laser treatments to get rid of my surface veins. After a couple of treatments that cost me over $900 I decided to wait out and see if I needed more after 2-3 once all bruising and discolouration is gone. I purchased Brimelain tabs to help with this as per their instructions. Unfortunately 3 months after my legs got so much worse and when I emailed the clinic with my concern including photos I was simply told this happens sometimes and it’s the side effect of the treatment and I would need to come back for more sclerotherapy. I have gone to another clinic two yrs after and they even did worse of a job on my veins then I decided to go back to Dr Kundu’s office for a 2nd time. This time around I did not see the Dr even though 4 yrs have gone by and my veins got worse. Instead of another ultrasound being done first to rule out the Venus reflux they simply went ahead with three sclerotherapy sessions convincing me my veins would look much better after three treatments I needed. It was a different nurse performing my treatments this time than the first time around. She had no people skills. Didn’t even introduce her self coming in to do my first treatment. Was very quiet and serious thoughout not explaining anything to me and I felt very uncomfortable. I had spent over $1200 this time around and my veins did not improve at all, just kept getting worse and worse. I started feeling more pain, burning, throbbing and heaviness as well as started getting swelling in my right calf. Again, I decided to find another clinic and get a 3rd opinion. After hearing me out as well as evaluating my symptoms the new clinic has ordered an ultrasound to be done at TGH The ultrasound result showed Venus reflux in my saphenous vein. No matter how many sclerotherapy sessions I had done or kept on getting because of this underlying issue my veins would keep getting worse. Sometimes I believe these clinics only want your money. This clinic advised EVLT which is at least $3500 This doesn’t end here. I was referred to a different clinic for the EVLT treatment and when seen by a new Dr he again did another ultrasound and discovered that my vein reflux was not in my saphenous vein but it was actually off of it which could be treated by duplex ultrasound guidance foam sclerotherapy at $60 x 2-3 sessions I needed instead of $3500! After all I have gone through I have finally found a clinic and staff who seemed to care about my vein issue. From Dr to nurses and receptionist everyone is very friendly and professional. Already had my first treatment and I hope we can put an end to my suffering with varicose veins. Good luck to you all out there finding the right clinic for you and getting your issue treated properly and not paying an arm and a leg for it.
