Ratings for Dr. Chet Wong
I went in for my appointment and right away he wasn't very nice. I hadn't been in there two minutes and he already seemed annoyed at me. He tested me for the allergies all while disregarding everything I was telling him. He told me everything that I thought and had previously been told I was allergic to by another allergist was completely wrong. On top of this he also shot down the other doctor, claiming that he wasn't right. He was rude- kept cutting me off every time I tried to say something, and talked to me like I was an idiot. Every question I asked got a vague answer that didn't help me and he just kept repeating the same things. All in all 0/10 would NOT recommend.
This doctor is a complete lunatic! He yelled at me when I came in for my appointment and told me I do not have asthma because I usually do not wheeze. He then kicked me out of his office while yelling something at me. I spent 5 minutes in his office and he didn't do the allergy test my doctor sent me for. My family doctor was appalled and send me to the well known other allergist in Richmond. Mr Wong was wrong however as I was later diagnosed with moderate asthma and the other allergist found a host of allergies. I'm not a person who expects a warm and cuddly doctor but I would NEVER return to this antisocial jerk. If I could give negative stars I would. Dr Luciuk ( Richmond's other allergist) has a much longer wait but it's worth wait.
There should be an option for NEGATIVE 10 stars for this doctor. After visiting Dr. Chet Wong, I was so bothered by him that I wanted to make a review to warn other patients. I'm not surprised that other patients have already beat me to it, saying the exact things that I want to say. I had an allergic reaction when I was about 8-10 years old. My tongue, insides of my mouth, and lips bubbled and swelled, and had excruciated stomach pains. He completely disregarded my allergy saying that it was not an allergic reaction, and that it was just my "anxiety-all in my head." How is that even possible?! He is a young doctor, and talks and sounds educated, but seems inexperienced because he is young. Many of the answers he gave to my questions contradicted what other doctors have said. He takes every question to offense, and makes you feel like a waste of time. What other patients have said is true; he is rude, no sense of humor, and should not be a doctor. I'm surprised he was even allowed to become a doctor. Seems like the type who was bullied in highschool, no girlfriend, and completely angry at the world. He looks and acts like a total grouch. He seemed annoyed at all of my questions. It amused me to see him frustrated, so I purposely asked more questions just to piss him off even more hahaha! By my last question, he didnt bother answering. Instead, he stood up, opened the door and said "I'm gonna let you go now," visibly irritated. This made me laugh as I walked out the door. The only good thing is that his secretary is very kind and courteous, and wait times were minimal--which should have been a bad flag from the beginning, considering he doesnt like to spend much time with you. Dr.Chet Wong needs to find a different career, because he clearly isn't happy with what his life right now.
Not recommended. I came here to get help to get support , to get suggestion to solve problem. But seems like this dr. is very frustrated to taking care patient. No explaination during the test; after test he just made comment that I don't have allergy altho my arm is super ichy and rash shows and ready to kick me out the room. Or maybe he did explain by only asking Me the questions. He maybe smart and knowledge on this field, but by only asking patient question does not means done the explanation. He was mad and frustrated kept repeats that he is saying 3times already. Really want to tell him I'm frustrated too, how do I understand whole test without any explanation. If I know all of these, I don't need to waste my time here, or maybe I can be the dr. too.... Truly not recommend! If any of your family dr. Refer to this specialist. Just refused and ask another referral! No need to waste your time here
Never want to take a step in his office again. Not friendly at all. Each time when I ask him a question he seems to get frustrated very easily. He doesn't explain about anything and starts doing the allergy tests. The moment when he pokes the needle in your arm he will pull the needle back with so much force that my arm was numb and bruised for 3 days. The staff was friendly and kind but if you are going to the clinic make sure you are not seeing him.
Was refered by my family Dr due to really bad seasonal allergies. Dr Wong knows what he is doing but it is not expressed in a way that is friendly. Both visits he would sit at the back of the room with arms crossed looking at me like I was a germ. Was no explanation about one of my allergies which is very frustrating. No allergy pill was given to me after the tests and my arm rashed up twice as much. Even the pharmacist was confused why this was not offered. Frustrated that I drove 45min for a 2min review that told me nothing.
Parents be warned! Do not bring your young child, toddler or baby to this doctor. He has horrible bedside manner, does not address children whatsoever. Does nothing to prepare the child for the test and answers your questions as if you're stupid. His receptionist is lovely and probably the only reason his reviews don't average to zero stars.
Took my daughter in for her appointment today and this guys was RUDE, and UNPROFESSIONAL! If you are in a position to help people, you should at least be friendly especially when it you are dealing with kids! My daughter is 19 months old and you can't just grab her arm and scratch her arm with a tongue depressor to prove she has sensitive skin. Although we had an argument in the hallway of this office, the douchebag flat out lied saying he asked permission to scratch my daughter's arm because we wouldn't have flipped if he had asked. He may know what he's doing from what he's learned in books, but books can't teach you how to talk to people and how to be professional. Clearly mom and dad did not teach you that. As for reception, the younger one is great! The older one, not so much. I forgot my phone in my car and came back to see that my wife and kids went it for the appointment. I ask if she can tell me where they are and she signals hold on. She then gets up and walks towards the back so I follow her. She turns to me and says "what are you doing?", I respond saying "I'm looking for my wife and kids and was following you because I thought you were leading me to them because you told me to wait". To make it short, she made me feel like an idiot because I didn't understand Cantonese or Mandarin. If I could give this place a negative rating, I would!
The worst doctor we have ever met. Cold, short, careless, rude!!!!! We will NEVER recommend someone like that to anyone. Had allergy test for me and my daughter. Poked our arms so hard, pulling the skin right up, the spots were bleeding, even though I asked at least 10 times not to rush and ease up on the pokes. My poor daughter and I have bloody dots on our arms now :(. He is very impatient and not helpful as much as he should be. And has ZERO personal skills, no smiles at all. He should not be in a profession to deal with people who are coming for help.
