Ratings for Dr. Anton Bergh
I have been seeing Dr. Bergh for about 10 years. He also treats my sons. I have had excellent experiences with him. He asks lots of questions and yes he will look things up to verify his diagnosis and share information sites with me. I don't find this a problem; in fact I think it shows humility and honesty to 'double check' his conclusions. He is very good at referrals when needed and balances further testing with value of information it would give. He asks for updates on the whole family whenever I come in. He always fits us in on short notice when we have a more urgent (non emergency) concern.
I will NEVER see this man again! He told me to "just act normal" after having my second concussion. He lost my paper work, "Oh, I have a new receptionist, she forgot to send the papers in" so I was not referred to a brain injury specialist after still having terrible concussion/post concussion symptoms. I saw him for over 8 years and over looked MANY things. He is careless, unprofessional and an absolute disgrace to family doctors everywhere. He often googles information, and then prescribes negligently.
Dr Bergh is an amazing Doctor. He diagnosed my b12 deficiency out of the blue. He was doing some study on Prevacid that I was taking and realized that it was causing b12 levels to drop. He had me tested and I was extremely low. Taking b12 I am feeling fine now. I find him to be an amazing Doctor!
I have been with Dr Bergh for about 15 years and have found him to be thorough and efficient. When I was first diagnosed with Cancer, he called me into his office to give me the news, and had already booked an appointment with a surgeon for me. Also, he emailed me some research on Cancer for me to review. Friends with the same diagnosis did not get near this level of support. His prompt action was extremely helpful and comforting even though none of this process is appealing. Also, his surgeon referral was an excellent choice! To this day, he is supportive of my health concerns. I plan to stick with Dr Bergh.
Dr Bergh has been my family physician for many years. His care and assistance has been excellent. He is kind and very knowledgeable. He has good connections and referrals in the community and gets back to me, even while he is away, in the event of an emergency.
Dr. Bergh googled my symptoms in front of me, and then attempted to contact a non-medical centre to requisition test results. He took poorly to my corrections- the tone and attitude problems mentioned by other commenters are quite apt. Keeping this appointment was a disappointing waste of time, and I'm much happier to have found another doctor.
I went in to see this "family" doctor for a pregnancy test. It was positive. I was 40yo. He suggested 3x to abort the baby because his suspicion was the baby will be a down syndrome one. I told him no and that I don't want to abort the baby because he is a gift and that my husband and I had been praying for one. He attacked me with "is it because of religion that you didn't want to abort it?" Again I said no and that it is not about religion and that the baby is a gift from God. He exclaimed "how can you call a down syndrome baby a gift?" I became emotional and I asked him, "how sure are you that this babe is a DS?" He didn't have an answer. He called in one of the attendants who speaks my language to further explain to me his plans. I told him that I don't need an interpreter and that I can understand him and that I decide not to abort the baby. He continued to rant, I gave him my deaf ear and I excused myself. He talked to the attendant and the latter handed me a "vitamin." An expired maternal pill! I rushed out of the clinic with tears in my eyes and I promise myself I will never go back. This was over four years ago, our son is in excellent health condition, smarter than anyone his age and a big bundle of joy. Today, as I talked to a 42yo colleague who is expecting, these memories just flashed in my mind and I told her what I've been through. I then thought, what if it's an unwanted pregnancy and that the woman is just waiting for someone in authority to tell her about abortion?
