If you went to this office right off the bat, you’ll never know how lucky you are. I’m on my fourth (and hopefully last!) child in braces. Dr. Cote wasn’t around yet when our first three went through the process, and let me tell you that the experience with him is night and day compared to the others who went to three different orthodontists in Ottawa and Gatineau. The differences start right at the consultation appointment where you actually get to spend quality time with the orthodontist himself rather than just a couple minutes with the doctor and all the rest of the time with an auxiliary sales person who isn’t qualified to diagnose or treatment plan. He also takes the pictures and x-rays right at that first appointment so that you don’t have to come back two or three more times (who has time for that these days) just to know what has to be done, what the options are, what it costs, how you can spread out the payments… he does it all right at the first appointment, which is not how it went at the other offices. He established great rapport with my daughter from the get-go too and even though she went in to that first appointment not looking forward to starting treatment, she left the consultation really excited about starting the process. She loved it throughout and finished ahead of schedule (rather than a year late like my other 3) with an awesome result and proper instructions on how to maintain it (I’ll have to take my first to see Dr Cote because his teeth have shifted badly since finishing his treatment because the orthodontist who treated him didn’t provide good retainer instructions). Every parent I’ve spoken to has had the same really positive experience and I even have some colleagues who see him for invisibles braces treatment in their 30s to 50s and they have nothing but good things to say too... Thanks for the great service! -A really happy mom :)

Dr. Cote is wonderful! We received excellent service and what I really appreciate is that on the first consult he spoke directly to my son receiving the treatment not just to me. This made him feel like he was truly part of the process. Good move Dr. Cote.

I couldn't be happier with the service we received. My kids usually dislike all health care stuff, but they couldn't wait for their appointments with Dr. Cote. It's such a welcoming atmosphere. And not only the doctor, but also all staff. 5 stars for sure.

I just wish Dr. Cote was around when my two other kids went through their orthodontia. Such a nice clinic, staff and orthodontist. It's wonderful to see a young doctor return to his community and give back.

I would highly recommend Dr Cote. I find him very professional and knowledgeable. He is very courteous and takes time with his patients. His staff is very helpful & the clinic is clean and modern looking. I have dealt with many Dentists in the past and have rarely been as impressed as I am with Dr Cote.

Went in for a consultation on the recommendation of a friend who's daughter is getting braces treatment at this office. Very impressed with everything about this practice. Dr. Cote explained things really well, and more importantly, he made a great impression with my son who is usually really hard to connect with. I think that's so important when you're going to be going to the same place for a long time, and none of the other orthodontists I consulted with were able to do this. My son is actually looking forward to starting treatment now. Highly recommend.

Biography

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Dr. Cote grew up in the Gatineau-Ottawa region, his parents settling their family of three children in the suburb of Aylmer when he was 9 years old. Dr. Cote received his high school degree from École secondaire Grande-Rivière in 1996 and completed his collegiate training at CÉGEP de l’Outaouais thereafter. Though his path to becoming an orthodontist involved memorable experiences living in and travelling to different parts of the continent, choosing a place to ultimately set up his practice was an easy decision – it would be in the beautiful National Capital Region that he and his family have always called home. In 1998, Dr. Cote moved to Montreal to pursue his dental training at McGill University. He excelled in this field of study and received several important honours: • Named to the Dean’s Honour List each year of the program; • Awarded the American Association of Orthodontists and American Academy of Periodontology prizes; • Awarded the Dr. James E.G. Harrison Faculty Scholarship for demonstrating the most firm commitment to the ethical practice of dentistry through interactions with patients and colleagues; • Awarded the Prix John K. Carver prize by the ODQ (Ordre des dentistes du Québec) for his exceptional academic performance. At his graduation ceremony in 2003, Dr. Cote was bestowed the title of DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine). Having the option to enter general private practice immediately, Dr. Cote chose instead to further his training by completing a one-year General Practice Residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas. During this post-graduate residency program, he received advanced training in all areas of dentistry, with particular emphasis on pediatric care. In 2004, Dr. Cote returned home to Gatineau where he practiced as a general dentist in the private sector for three years. He devoted much of his practice to the treatment of patients who were fearful of dental procedures, and he received pediatric referrals from his colleagues even as a fellow general dentist. Despite being passionate about all areas of dentistry, Dr. Cote developed a special fondness for orthodontics, and he therefore made the difficult decision to interrupt his work as a general practitioner to return to full-time university studies for three more years to become an orthodontist. In 2007, Dr. Cote left Gatineau for Edmonton to pursue his specialty studies in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Alberta. He selected this school due to its renowned orthodontics program that offers one of the most modern and comprehensive clinical curriculums in the world. He again excelled in his studies and was awarded the Advanced Education Heritage Scholarship for exceptional academic achievement. He graduated with a Diploma in Orthodontics (Dip Ortho) and Master of Science (MSc) degree in 2010, and he completed one year of orthodontic private practice in Alberta thereafter. Dr. Cote prides himself on remaining current with new developments in the ever-changing field of orthodontics so that he may always offer the best possible treatment options to all patients. He is passionate about his work and feels all the more fortunate to do what he loves in the place he’s always considered home.
