Ratings for Dr. Sharmeen Shaikh
I have found my experience with Dr. Shaikh lackluster. It appears as though she may be more interested in her skin care practice than her family practice. I have come to her with concerns regarding my health and I have been given medications before going for lab work; this led me to take unnecessary medications and me having to follow up with staff to determine if my results have come back. I appreciate the time her staff takes to transcribe my concerns regarding my appointment but I am disappointed that it is not reviewed when Dr. Shaikh comes in and asks the same questions that her staff did. I am bothered that while sitting in the waiting room I have heard staff at the front desk discuss test results and release patient names out loud in front of other people causing me to be concerned about the privacy of the patients coming to this clinic. I was treated thoroughly by the physician who was covering for Dr. Shaikh while she was on vacation than I have ever been treated by her before. It is disheartening to have a physician who appears to be disinterested in your care and is frustrating being recommended cosmetic treatments when it has no relation to why you are seeing her in the first place.
The staff are very friendly and courteous. I went to few doctors regarding my skin conditions that didn't help me but Dr. Sharmeen was exceptionally awesome! During the procedure i had my eyes closed, she explained to me step by step what she was doing and what she was going to do and continuously asked me how i was doing, she was very gentle! I'm HIGHLY SATISFIED! I'm very grateful for her advice and help. I pray for the best for her, her family and clinic!
I've read the other comments and it doesn't even seem like the same doctor that I've seen. I had 2 moles removed on Mon. and 2 more today. She was very personable and friendly with me and my husband. She took a fair amount of time with us and answered any questions we had. I have no complaints whatsoever.
She has her staff say she is "out of the office", but she is there taking care of her "skin care" patients. She isn't interested in being a GP. She wants to pawn you off on laser and skin treatments for more money. The other doctor who used to work there seemed to care about people, not Dr. Shaikh. A walk-in clinic cares more about you than Dr. Shaikh,
I've been going to Dr Shaikh for 4 years now and I've decided that I'm not going back. The receptionists are always nice, but I think they treat me better because I use the skin care products. Dr Shaikh has done a lot to help me with my acne, mostly has started me on a line that has helped a lot. But in the 4 years I have been there, she hasn't taken my blood pressure once or taken any time to make me feel like she cares about my health. Yes, I see her for skin care issues but I've been there for other health care concerns and usually those are treated with a quick prescription and not many words exchanged about what has been going on. I once went in with a real issue that was concerning me, I booked an appointment far in advance and she promised to look into it for me. I got there and all she had to say was there wasn't anything she could do and nothing she could recommend. She didn't say much at all and I got more help from the internet. I think she forgot to look into it for me and just shrugged it off. She keeps recommending microdermabrasion but there is no way I would be comfortable with her doing any procedures on me from the way she has treated our appointments in the past, she rushes you through your questions and quickly moves on to her next patient. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.
I had to see her to get a few suspicious moles removed, she was a butcher! She had no compassion what so ever. I saw her twice, and on both occasions she told me rapidity how bad they looked. She has horrible bedside manner. I left her office basically convinced that I had skin cancer. I then developed a horrible infection in both removal sites, after she told me that there was a 0.00001% chance of getting an infection. I had to go to a walk-in clinic to get antibiotics, because there was no way I was going back to see her! She also told me she would call me with my results, good or bad, I never received a call. I could go on, but I think you get the point.
I received a call from Dr. Shaikh's office asking that we part ways. I am dumbfounded. The receptionist indicated that Dr. Shaikh felt we were rude to her, when the exact opposite is true! She has consistently been 35-45 minutes late for our appointments...I work in health care & understand this happens sometimes, so we agreed to switch days to be seen on a less busy one. Then when I simply asked a question regarding how my son's treated areas for warts could be bandaged better to yield better results, she became extremely defensive, raised her voice & made several unprofessional comments. She clearly doesn't like when you share a difference of opinion. I thought she made have just been having a bad day, but after reading so many negative reviews of her, I see that I'm not alone in being ok with us parting ways! I would definitely not recommend this physician due to the unprofessionalism.
Terrible Doctor! Doesnt care about patients at all and is never on time. She is nice but there is not connection. Ive come to her several times and she just gives me her canned answers or pushes her laser treatment or hair products and services. He prescribed the wrong medication and called me 3 days later realizing it after. I also went in for a scan for some torn tissue and she came back to me telling me that I had no sign of fractures, Well DUH! im walking and I didn't ask if it was. I didnt come in for a broken bone.
