Ratings for Dr. Tom Thomas
I was sent to Dr Thomas for a skin cancer on my face by a dermatologist. From the minute he walked in to the exam room, his warmth and friendliness put me at ease immediately. I felt cared for and in the presence of someone who was going to lead me where I needed to be. Very patient and easy to talk to and felt that he would take the time to answer any and all questions I would have. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. He is a warm and caring Doctor who I felt in exceptionally good hands with.
I had an excellent experience with Dr. Thomas. I had a tumor on the parotid salivary gland, which needed to be removed. I was very nervous about this, but Dr. Thomas made me feel at ease. The surgery & recovery went very smoothly, the scar is not noticeable & the tumor was benign. Dr. Thomas is an excellent physician/surgeon and he has a wonderful bedside manner. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs to have head or neck surgery. He is a very caring & compassionate doctor.
Dr. Thomas examined me and found a small spot on my tongue. He preformed a biopsy and it was discovered to be malignant. Dr.Thomas explained in detail to me the next steps which included surgery to remove the cancer. He was compassionate and answered all my questions and my concerns. Thanks to him, I'm recovering nicely and my cancer has been removed. I have found Dr. Thomas to be very professional and an extremely skilled surgeon. He has compassion and demonstrated the willingness to listen.
I saw Dr. Thomas because I had a enlarged thyroid and I just couldn't stand it anymore. I was actually having a hard time swallowing. I ended up needing to get the left side of my thyroid out, and the incision is very minimal. Dr. Thomas is very good doctor and surgeon. He has a great bedside manner and I would recommend him to anyone in need of head and neck surgery.
We were referred to Dr. Thomas by another ENT surgeon, who wanted the surgery to be performed by someone with more expertise. My 76 year old father in law had a large tumor (9cm) pushing against his windpipe. The local surgeon was worried about the size and location of the mass and the patient’s age. Dr. Thomas adjusted his clinic and OR schedule to see my father in law promptly then take him to surgery. My father in law’s large thyroid cancer was pushing on his trachea and you could see his Adams apple as a second lump on the other side of his neck. He had total thyroidectomy and neck dissection. He was able to eat couple of hours after surgery, (he was eager and ready to eat right in the recovery room!). Surprisingly, he did not take a single pain killer post discharge. There is barely a visible scar. His voice is perfectly normal despite the fact that the tumor was pushing on his recurrent laryngeal nerves. This speaks volumes about the exceptionally precise skillset and expertise Dr. Thomas possesses! My father in law was diagnosed with an aggressive form of thyroid cancer, (poorly differentiated carcinoma arising in the background of follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma), Dr. Thomas went above and beyond to get the follow up treatments expedited. We never felt rushed at appointments, and he explained everything about the condition to us in an easy to understand manner. All of us in our family are eternally grateful to Dr. Thomas for having put us all at ease and made this experience smooth right from consult all the way to post surgery. Dr. Thomas is a doctor that talks to you and LISTENS. He is straightforward. He doesn’t over sell himself, his skills or the surgery. But, be ready to wait for him, his clinic runs late since he doesn’t rush anyone out. We highly recommend him! The patient experiences and reviews here, https://www.healthgrades.com/physician/dr-tom-thomas-xnllb - helped us to see him initially even though we had several choices including a world famous cancer center in a 25 mile radius. If you read his Bio, you will see he has one of the best head and neck cancer surgery training in the world. More than his training, he has the humanity and interpersonal skills that is utterly lacking now a days in the surgical profession.
I was referred to Dr. Thomas for a cyst on my thyroid. He performed surgery to remove the cyst and the right side of my thyroid. I could not have been happier with Dr. Thomas. He made me feel comfortable and explained every step of the process. His staff was great as well, so easy to make appointments and schedule my surgery. Dr. Thomas is so easy to talk to and comforting. I would recommend him to any of my friends and family!
I saw Dr. Thomas for a lipoma on my neck. He did a great job in getting the proper tests done, diagnosing, and surgery / removal. The surgical area has healed very nicely and I'm so happy that I was referred to him. I would highly recommend him without any hesitation.
I started seeing Dr. Thomas in 2011 when I discovered I had tongue cancer. Always professional and concerned about my well-being. He had to remove lymph nodes from my neck and rebuild my tongue with a graph from my leg. My speech has remained pretty normal, though when I am tired I can hear a slight lisp. He also performed another surgery to remove scar tissue and correct a deviated septum in order to complete the required scope to check for any abnormal growth. I highly recommend.
