Ratings for Dr. Maged Gerges
I trusted Dr Gerges; he didn't just push prescriptions on you as some doctors I have known. Still, I found him wholly negligent in his mishandling of my application for benefits from Veteran's Affairs based on injuries stemming from military service. He said he wanted to be an advocate for his patients; that gave me great hope but, after almost 3 years of fumbling with my case, he moved his practice to ON.
Dr Gerges is kind, thorough and an excellent doctor. He will make referrals if he feels it necessary...in my case it was to a specialist and it ultimately saved my life. I thanked him for saving my life and his humble reply was that he had just done his job. ...no...you saved my life and I am forever grateful. Amazing doctor...lovely person. Highly recommend him.
As a senior I have been through many doctors and Dr. Gerges is the best. He is caring and thorough and takes the time to listen to your concerns. He is not quick to refer you or to prescribe drugs unless these methods of treatment are really necessary. I never have to wait very long to get an appointment at the Clayton Park clinic and can usually be seen the very day I call or the next. A great doctor.
When my long term GP retired, I found myself bouncing around between walk-in clinics, terrible doctors, or doctors who up and left without notice. Dr. Gerges is helpful, asks the right questions and explores options. I've never felt rushed or unheard to my concerns. He is kind, receptive, and prompt with follow up appointments or requests for outside treatments. I've never had an issue with approaching with more than one issue per appointment. I suspect this has to do with how much time you take - can you explain your headache and knee pain in reasonable time, or do you come in with a laundry list that takes far longer than a reasonable appointment, therefore putting him behind schedule. Bottom line - It's reassuring to have a GP who I feel confident placing my health with.
Dr. Gerges is a really, solidly good doctor-and those are hard to find in Nova Scotia right now. He tries he best to stay on time and not have long waits. He listens to your issues and isn't afraid to say he needs to research to give you the best treatment. He is patient with both of my children and through in his care for them. I drive from Cole Harbour all the way to his office in Bedford because the level of his care is worth the travel. I also can't say enough about how helpful and friendly his office staff are (Bonita especially). They know my children by name, and will do whatever they can to fit you in if your issue is urgent. Just great care all around.
