Ratings for Dr. George A. Petroff
I saw Dr Petroff from 2007 until 2015 (all in Austin, Tx -no moves to Vegas). He left one practice and moved to a different one but the office staff situation didn't improve. I found him to be blunt and direct, but he always tried hard to figure out what was wrong. The last two years I was with him he apparently was quite sick (but nothing was disclosed to me until recently). Unfortunately I had to move from his practice-finding another neurologist in this town that actually cares about you seems impossible.
I have seen this doctor for two years for Parkinson's. He is rude and arrogant and he seems like he is always in a bad mood. He has screwed up my prescriptions and he never explains anything to me. He treats me like I am stupid. Recently I tried getting a scooter becuase it is hard for me to get around some days. His office would not complete the paperwork. I asked him again to complete the paperwork and he said he would while I was there but then later on, I got a call from his office and they told me that he did not want to fool with it. Don't go to this doctor. Dont waste your money or time.
Received referral to Dr. Petroff as he was the only doctor in town that could schedule an appointment in the next several weeks. He had an opening the next morning! It was clear why this was the case. He didn't seem to want to help solve a seizure problem and weirdly never made eye contact. He seemed extremely distracted, perhaps because the appointment tore him away from a conversation with an attractive drug rep that took 45 min. In visits, it somewhat seemed like he was sampling the wares as he appeared to be autistically disconnected. After firing him and obtaining copies of the medical records, it was clear from his notes that he indeed had not been paying attention to the words coming out of the patient's mouth. It was as if the notes referred to a completely different patient. In the world of medicine, it is rare for doctors to abandon established practices due to the huge financial hit, yet Petroff moved to Austin after many years in Vegas - I wounder why that could be?
