My mom lost 45 lbs in less than 2 months; she threw up every time she ate. Dr. Aboul-Hosn told my mom to go home and eat some cake to fatten up. He would NOT let family members accompany my mom. He didn't talk to us nor didn't want to hear our input on what she was going thru. She had signs of Alzheimer & didn't remember things, but he still wouldn't accept our input & sent her home many times. Turns out she had Fungal Meningitis. She is finally recovering after 7 months of several near death moments. Had he done his job, this would have been caught & treated sooner. He was willing to let my mother die, because he thought she just needed to eat some cake. DO NOT SEND your elderly family members to him. Matter of fact, don't send anyone to him.

Dr. Aboul-Hosn has been my family doctor for many years now. When he first came to the community, people talked about how thoroughly he reviewed the medical histories of his new patients (of all ages), and often reduced the large numbers of medications elderly patients were on. Their prior providers either didn't know their patients' whole regimens of medications - and potential for dangerous interactions - or didn't act for some other reason. More personally, he has helped shepherd my family through major health problems. He has a reputation for carefully studying medications, specialist referrals, and all aspects of his practice. On a down note, you may have to push back a little to get a referral to a specialist whose work he feels is sub-par; this is usually a good thing, but can be a problem in this smaller medical community. Overall, Dr. Aboul-Hosn is a doctor with the highest standards of care, and I am very happy he practices here.

Dr. Aboul-Hosn is a very compassionate man. He is my mothers doctor and he does talk to family members. He likes to see the patient alone first and then he will ask the family member to join them. My doctor recently resigned and I'm hoping to switch to Dr. Aboul-Hosn.
