My 27 yr old son saw Dr Patel while in Easley hospital in Texarkana. He diagnosed him with MTHFR. His clots were in his lungs. He told him that the clots could move and he could die. He was treated with heparin and then sent home on coumadin. He is on disability and cannot afford to see his doctor and needs his blood drawn. He has called and left numerous messages. There has not been any return calls. He has had no follow up and no orders for further scans. I realize he is busy and this is just one young man out of thousands he sees, but this young man is not JUST another poor dying MTHFR pt, to everyone who knows him. He has terrible leg pain when his blood becomes too thick and he is in pain. He may or may not have clots at this time but we need some follow up and if it means he needs to be admitted to the hospital to have his blood drawn and scans run to check for clots. Dr Patel has privileges at Wadley and could write the orders however there has been no communication from him or his staff after multiple calls and messages.
