Ratings for Dr. Scott McClelland
My sister and her husband had an appointment to discuss the memory issues her husband has developed over the last year. It's become so severe he can't remember anything for more than 10 minutes. Since he can't remember what he does from one moment to the next, living with him has became extremely difficult. When they arrived for their "scheduled " appointment, they were told they couldn't see Dr. McClelland until they atteneded an informational class, related to his services. My brother-in-law is not addicted to drugs and does not drink alcohol, therefore not needing counseling for anything other than losing his mind through a central nervous system disorder. Hoping to get some help from the doctor that day is one of the few positives my sister had that month. When she was told he wouldn't see them, she broke down into tears and left with her vacuous husband in tow. How dare a doctor of mental illness turn away a patient after a scheduled appointment. The receptionist saw my sister crying out of frustration, and simply let them walk out the door. That's simply a horrible, inexcusable way to treat someone who is obviously planning on receiving support and/or advice.
Dr. McClelland has no respect for the time of his patients. I have never waited less than an hour. The last time he was an hour and a half late for 10:30 AM appointment. At that time he bought in another patient. I left. I am pleased with my new doctor. Staff are fair. ACT Medical Group, P.A. in Wilmington, NC does not have a good repuatation and taken advantage.
