Ratings for Dr. Kenneth A. Krumins
I had a great experience when Dr. Krumins replaced my knee. Since he does not cut the major quad muscle, the recovery was 2 months faster than my first knee replacement. I have recommended several friends and neighbors to him without reservation. They have all been happy.
I haven't left any bad reviews before. But I am disappointed in Dr. Kremlins staff (other than Tonya). TKR surgery went well. But I continued to have a low grade fever for 4 weeks. My family doctor said I needed to do an allergy test for the metal used in the TKR device. I contacted an allergist and he said to get a metal sample from Krumins office. I left 3 messages, and had one conversation with a staff member explaining the situation. No one ever even called me back. I got a hold of Tonya and explained what's going on. She was appalled and said she would get right on it. No one called that day, so I called back Tonya. She apologized that no one called back. Finally,, Tonya called me with an answer and They said they couldn't help me get a sample or tell me what kind of metal is used in the Stryker Triathlon device. I found an allergist to test for metal and it clearly showed a nickel allergy. I called Stryker and was told nickel was a prevelant metal in the device. All this took 5 weeks. So then I walk in Dr. Krumins office (still with fever, knee pain, head ache, etc,,,) asking for 2 minutes to explain to anyone that I needed the knee replaced with a device that doesn't contain nickel. I was assured by the receptionist some one would call back today (I was there by 11 am). And I wrote a note outlining the importance of a call back. I also called his office in case they overlooked the handwritten note. She said she would leave a note for Carol to call me right away. No one called that day. That brings me to today. Ugh!
Dr Krumin charges for services not rendered. In January 2017 I had an appointment with Dr. Krumins for an injured knee. After waiting 1 hr and 45 min I left the doctors to meet my children. I never saw Dr. Krumins, However he charged me $434.00 for treatment and an office visit. After working with the billing department for 2 months, they still have not resolved the problem. If you make and appointment with Dr. Krumins, allow at least 2 hours and be sure to check your bill carefully.
Dr. Krummins is very personable and knowledgeable & a great surgeon. My shreaded miniscus surgery went very well, so well that my recovery was 2 days - painfree & without crutches. Of course, I followed his post surgery plan exactly. He answered all my questions & was very thorough. He is a great doctor!
