Ratings for Dr. Alexei Yankovski
He is excellent at this job! Has been a great help to me, listens to what I and family have to say. Doesn't "push" anything on you, he suggests it and gives you options. Very good rapport with his patients. One of my parents always comes with me, he does not dismiss them. Includes all in the same conversation. I hope he stays "forever"!
I had a seizure in February 2016, before my 19th birthday. What had happened was I hit my head really hard and my license was taken away, so because of one incident my license is gone for a while. They said they would get ahold of me with results and it has been close to 7 weeks and I have heard nothing. They were telling me everything I had to be careful of basically telling me to live in a f****** bubble! Was not happy with anyone of anything here! Just want my results so I dont have to be back there !
I am very disappointed with my treatment with Dr. Yankovsky and his clinic. If it were not for me requesting lab work, calling for the results and for the several time, insisting on some dramatic changes in my medication's side effects, I highly doubt that I would have discovered my dose of Lamotrigine has been above normal range for some time. My body has gone through unnecessary treatments because of their inattentiveness. I am very let down, but also very agitated and nervous about the state of my mind due to too much medication, let alone the seizures. We all experience side effects, but these doses were preventable and an apparent by-product of them dropping the ball. Despite several increases in my dose throughout the year (as well as additional trials with other medications), my seizure frequency has not changed. I am sad that the clinic had not noticed through several updates via the telephone, and having to remind them has me feeling so overlooked. Any concerns I have mentioned throughout this time, the clinic almost always referred me back to my family physician. She is not a neurologist nor has prescribed me any of the medication the clinic has. She was mystified as well as disappointed that this has been the case for the last 3 visits. The clinic once pushed me away when I was concerned of Dilantin side effects, and it was my GP that could see I was allergic to it. My last appointment with Yankovsky was 6 months apart from the first and the next one is now 9 months away. I left a message at the seizure clinic recently and it is now said that they will return your call within 3 working days, compared to the 24 hour time frame they used to have. I am still currently taking the same dose. My mind is blown that I have not heard back from the clinic for 2 days. During this time, I am still experiencing seizures and nasty side effects. I understand a high volume of patients, but how is it that many (for example, on this site) have found successful treatment from the same place? When I had my last appointment, he was very punctual and answered my questions; however, unfortunately I did not know what to ask at the time. That of course is not his fault at all! But I am concerned about recurring seizures since my appointment two months ago and I am scared that I am months away from speaking to him again. For patients who have frequent, uncontrolled seizures, this schedule of treatment is unacceptable
I had an ambulatory eeg from a Tuesday to Friday... Once it was done he said he would phone with the results in 3 weeks max. We called over and over and kept getting told he'll call you. After almost 2 months after a nurse called me with the results. Every question I asked she said she doesn't even work in that department and she knows nothing about what goes on up there. It's been just over 5 months now and still no answers or calls. Thank god I'm going back to Dr. Hughes, he is amazing
