After a colonoscopy in late May I became quite ill with alternating bouts of constipation and diarrhea. I was advised to get an X-ray, a $120 dollar procedure that told me I was constipated. Thanks. The staff then told me to do a total cleanse even though I was struggling alternately with diarrhea. The situation only worsened. Here, two months later, I still have painful and complicated digestive problems. Before this colonoscopy I never had such difficulties. Hesitant about becoming dependent on laxatives, I decided to consult a wholistic medicine group and following their program has improved things by about 60%. I would hesitate to say that my problems are entirely the fault of Dr. Lu, but what I do know is that in two prior colonoscopies I never had a problem. After this one I had to cancel a planned 3-week vacation to France since it is terribly inconvenient to travel when you cannot predict what your bowels are going to be doing from one hour to the next. Let's just say that this colonoscopy has been a truly distressing experience. I won't go back. William Harman, Pittsburgh
