I do not feel a physician is secure, confident or competent when they need to introduce themselves as Dr. so and so. Secure people say: Hello, I'm Kimberly Neyman, your new dermatologist. I am most definitely not impressed by titles and I don't want them used with me. She calls me Rita, I shall call her Kimberly. I too am a professional with a title. I don't find it necessary to use my title. I'm not trying to impress anyone and I don't want others to try to impress me. I react quite unfavourably to insecure title droppers.
