Ratings for Dr. John K. Tin
I fainted nearly three years ago, fell against a wall and have experienced chronic neck and shoulder pain ever since. I have been to urgent care at least three times for the pain and was referred to Dr. Tin after the pain did not subside. I have seen Dr. Tin multiple times since, and he has sent me away with no real solutions. I visited urgent care again with horrific pain and had x-rays done. After visiting Dr. Tin yet again, I demanded an MRI be taken because I felt something was wrong. He questioned why I would want an MRI, and I reminded him of my fall/injury three years back and he was shocked. He had NO CLUE that ever happened. He had no knowledge of the x-ray either. THIS DOCTOR DOES NOT REVIEW MEDICAL RECORDS BEFORE APPOINTMENTS AND TREATING PATIENTS. Talking with my physical therapist 10 days ago, I was informed of the x-ray and MRI findings I never knew about. The therapist told me I have bulged discs in my spine as well as two areas of pinched nerves. Why didn't Dr. Tin ever speak of this or bother to contact me? I have been clueless for three years! Thank goodness for my physical therapist stepping in to save me! Dr. Tin's assistant so kindly called me back 10 days+ after the results were posted to inform me of the results that were already relayed to me by PT early last week. So timely and prompt of Dr. Tin! He deserves to have his license to practice revoked. I am so sad to see the medical field declining like this because of doctors like Dr. Tin. I still cannot believe, after several visits, all of this information slipped passed the "specialist." I am so glad I am a cautious person, otherwise, going skiing or tilting my neck the wrong way might have really done some damage! Thank you Dr. Tin for allowing me to get the MRI I requested MYSELF to find out what was wrong with my neck. If you want to have a 30 second appointment just to be sent to the pharmacy with no answers, please schedule an appointment!
I have been seeing Dr. Tin for almost 3 years. I am a chronic pain patient. I have been on a series of pain reducing drugs over this course of time. Dr. Tin is a soft spoken and kind doctor, but he is very strict. He only gives the smallest amount of med he needs to to help his patient and questions you if you are having increased pain. Recently I hit a wall with the same regimen I've been on for 2.5 years and asked to maybe change off of a drug that has too much Tylenol in it... To which he told me he's comfortable with the amount I am ingesting. I called to ask kaiser what my options are and they automatically filed a "report". I believe most of the issues you will face at kaiser will not be due to Dr. Tin, but due to Kaiser being a sub-par medical group.
After a misdiagnosis, Dr. Tin was able to give me the correct diagnosis and treatment. It was a slow process of getting better but, I had some serious issues. He answered all my emails and phone calls promptly and was very willing to help me with any/all problems! He was even open to suggestions when I asked about a particular treatment and was able to get it for me! I'm very happy with him and will never hesitate to call him again or refer someone to him. I can't say anything negative about him and if you need some rehab help, try him out! I'm so happy I did...I'm back to work and almost pain free...just a small amount of residual pain that we're still working on.
