Ratings for Dr. Casey D. Jenkins
Dr. Jenkins performed partial hip surgery on my mother several months ago after a fall that broke her hip. She has had nothing but trouble and extreme pain in her hip ever since. After going to more reputable doctor recently for a second opinion she has learned that he installed the wrong hip joint for her lifestyle. He installed a joint that was designed for an older person that has very little or no activity. He was clearly told by the family before surgery that she was a VERY active person and was on her feet most of any given day. She has to have further hip surgery now (by another Dr.) to fix what Dr. Jenkins failed to do. He consulted with another Dr. in his group before performing the surgery. I would not recommend him or anyone in his group if you are looking for hip replacement surgery. They clearly made a wrong decision in this case and it has caused my mother much pain & grief. We are thankful that the new doctor says he can fix it and get her back to her normal lifestyle.
Apparently did not believe my pain until he saw the X-ray , immediately recommended surgery for arthritis and wanted me to go to a doctor out of town that did a new procedure. When I wasn't interested in an untested procedure, he continued to push it over next appts-not willing to offer any traditional surgical treatment or discuss anything but steroid injections. I got the distinct feeling he simply wasn't listening to my concerns whatsoever.
Dr. jenkins didn't spend 5 mins with us.There was a break 9 mos earlier on same arm, same area. When we asked if it was the same spot , he pulled up past and current x rays and couldn't even tell where the breaks were. Granted one x ray was not that good, but he should have ordered another one but he had a few others to look at as well. When he couldn't make sense of those he walked out of the room , and didn't return. The next weeks visit was with the PA and the bone was bent more than the previous week and she suggested to come back 2 weeks from then instead of the every week appt. because the bone was still in line ?
Dr. Jerkins was comsistantly late for the appointments by no less then 45 minutes, he spends less than 5 without you does not listen to your concerns. Cannot speak to him after you leave the office messages are always relayed through his assistant. Cost me a lot of money and wasted time due to their lack of communication with his patients. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. Office staff very unorganized and unwilling to facilitate good patient service. Run don't walk away from this office.
