I was referred to Dr. Brenner by my ENT and met with her on my first appt. She decided to do blood tests to see if she could find out why I'd been sick for almost 5 months with upper respiratory problems. That was on a Monday and she said that she would probably have the test results by that same Friday. Being already ill and growing even more so daily, exactly 2 weeks later after patiently waiting any phone call from their office, I finally called them and I asked why the tests were taking longer than Dr. Brenner had said. The receptionist told me that my test results already were there in the office but that Dr. Brenner had not looked at them yet. I asked when she would be able to get that done, and that this process had already taken about a month, and that my health was declining rapidly. They asked me if I would like another appt. to come back into the office, so went back in again, and Dr. Brenner explained the results, and she said that I had Walking Pneumonia and precscribed antibiotic treatment. I don't believe she was happy when I asked her why it took so much longer than she had told me it would, and that I felt much more ill upon this wait. After I was on the medication for 7 days, with no sign of improvement and actual a worsening of symptoms, I called to the office to only ask if this was to be expected or not. I'd mentioned to Dr. Brenner & her nurse Kristen that I'd had another antibiotic that had worked great from my GP before he referred me to her and that it got me almost completely well, but that when it ran out I gradually went back downhill. Dr. Brenner mentioned that course was just not long enough. I explained that particular antibiotic worked immediately within a few days so I wondered if it this newly prescribed one was working as expected. So, after Kristen relayed my call to Dr. Brenner's MA, they decided to call into my pharmacy this particular med I'd had before. When I picked it up though it was actually a different medicine...they'd called in the wrong replacement antibiotic. When I called to tell them, I spoke with the her MA, Reagan whom I'd never met before. From the second she picked up the phone to speak to me, she was clearly anxious and rude. She used a hateful and condescending tone in her words to me. From there she started being manipulative and dominating our conversation by cutting me off and abruptly ordering me to answer her questions as she fired them off at me one by one . I've never been treated so disrespectfully or intimidated like this by any medical office staff member before in my life and Reagan is a obviously a refection of who hired her in my opinion. I would never allow anyone like this was no integrity to work for me that treats people so poorly. My husband was sitting close beside me and heard our conversation. We were both shocked by her completely unprofessional behavior and hateful treatment of a sick patient. I have no idea why I was treated this way and I was actually paying for this abusive medical care. While in her office I noticed that Dr. Brenner was listed in D Magazine as a top doc in Dallas. Well, she's just an average MD in my opinion, and her MA Reagan is horrific, and has zero integrity or professionalism. Not only am I not impressed with anything about this average office deep in the middle of Garland, Texas, but I want to warn others to not make the same mistake I did and waste their valuable time going there. Any reputable Infectious disease DR. can run blood tests and find out what's wrong, but how you actually treat and care for a patient that's been referred to you is of vital importance. As ill as I'd been prior to going, I had to wait 2 weeks to even get in to Dr. Brenner for an appointment, then 2 more weeks for my test results to be reviewed, and it was only done then due to my call to them. So, it was an entire month that my illness was prolonged by my choice to go to his specific doctor. It is my opinion after my experience there that the women in this office are arrogant, and care very little for their patients needs and more for their own.

I was referred to Dr Brenner by my ENT for treatment of a resistant bacterial chronic sinus infection. I needed IV antibiotics for which I had to have a PICC line inserted. I am a retired RN, but was still quite anxious about the month long treatment. Dr. Brenner patiently and intelligently answered all my questions, and explained the plan of care very well from the beginning. Her entire office staff was the best that I have encountered- ever. The nurses anticipated questions about the treatment and PICC line care, immediately putting me at ease with their competence and caring approach to their patients..Highly recommend this doctor and her excellent staff.
