Ratings for Dr. Harry W. Saperstein
Dr. Saperstein is a superstar amoung dermatologists. I am a malpractice attorney and I searched with detail to find the best. He is it. Waiting is a small price to pay for greatness. I fly in from Florida and Chicago because I trust him. The most important trait is that he is a genuine individual who calls it like he sees it so one always knows what the situation is.
After a few visits I realized that he was more interested in making his quota of biopsies then truly serving his patients. He also is one of the only Dermatologist that do their own biopsy evaluations (thats like asking you barber if you need a haircut). He informed me that I had melanoma so I did have it removed by him unfortunately, during the surgery a nurse came running into the room telling him he needed to check another patient right away and he basically Harry let his nurse finish up my surgery. I have a very nasty scar on my back that I'll have to live with the rest of my life now. Insult to injury, I just was informed that Harry sent me to collections for an outstanding bill I never received any notice for form 5 years ago. Greed is this mans motivator, if you see him be prepared to wait a very long time and in my opinion he will carve on you needed or not. The BS about minimal scaring is just that BS. I’ve seen much better results since my encounter with his office.
This guy and his staff are absolutley apalling. Besides being rude, disresectful, overbooked and pompous, he and his staff are imcompetent. My daughter almost dies twice from MRSA - when we moved to LA, Dr. Saperstein guaranteed that he would be avaiable if this happened again. She was diagnosed and I called for 2 weeks - left message after message - he never called back. At her next checkup, I asked him about the diagnosis and messages - he said he had never received any and there was nothing in the charts (I spoke to his nurse Tim at the time). Two months later, he cancelled a prescription she was on with no notice (this was helping keep the MRSA at bay). Just not a very nice person and it's too bad as he is a very smart man. Oh, and his staff is just obnoxiously rude.
So phony he should apply for a position as an Iranian diplomat....his toothy see you in a minute from the door or an approximaton thereof was a sour lie after waiting for almost an hour on several visits. One final insult is the facial scar he left in my check after sugery that, in my opinion, gave evidence of a slipshod surgeon losing his touch.
This man is a credit to his profession. He was able to cure a nasty skin cancer that the VA was told about. The VA didn't have the med in their list as it was "too expensive." Years later they now (I'm told). He's not stuck in the past and listens to your side of a health concern.
Dr. Saperstein is a very good dermatologist, head of a three person practice, who is busy and often takes months to see. But the result is worth it, whether it be for acne, pre-cancers, cysts, or more serious problems. His bedside manner is personable and witty. Most importantly, Dr. Saperstein seems more aggressive about solving problems that other dermatologists, in my family's experience, seem to shrug at and let go. If you can wait to see Dr. Saperstein, do so, or if you can't wait for an appointment, try one of the other docs in the office, although I personally haven't gone to either of the others.
