I met Dr. Mathew Boes about 2 years ago when I was having bad knee pains from arthritis. I liked him from the moment we met, he took me thru the steps I needed in order to get knee replacement and I had my first one on June 1, 2016 and the second one on October 20, 2016. I could not have had a better Doctor as far as his caring, surgeon abilities and after care. My scars at minimal, my pain level is almost zilch, I followed his videos which helped me to recover more quickly. I highly recommend Dr. Boes and his assistant Dr. Kyle Pelligra for any type of injury to your knees or bones, they are the best and I look forward to my 1 year follow ups, just to say hi. I broke my collar bone in a mountain bike accident, Dr. Bose was the on call orthopedic surgeon on call. Not having a broken bone in my whole life scared me to the bone(pun inteded, lol) Dr. Bose was very thorough and assured me everything will be all right and I will heal quickly. (he was right!!) Surgery came and went and I had minimal to no pain after surgery. I decided to have the hardware removed as it was a bit bothersome and sensitive (I have prominent collar bones to begin with so it made me super sensitive). That surgery was done December 28, 2016. Surgery was a delight(as surgeries can go), recovery was super fast, the scar is looking great and I am as mobile as anyone that has an intact collar bone! I am so happy that I had Dr. Boes as my Doctor. He really listened, and cared about me and my collarbone! If I ever have (God Forbid) another accident, Raleigh Orthopedics is where I will go! His entire staff is excellent everyone there, from the front desk to the rest of the staff (Thank you Kyle Pelligra (Dr. Bose PA) are truly wonderful!! Thank you Dr. Boes from the bottom of my heart!!!

Dr. Boes recently did my shoulder replacement surgery. I originally saw him for a second opinion after the first orthopedist I saw recommended surgery. I was so impressed with my first visit to Dr. Boes that I chose him for the surgery. He takes his time with you to answer all your questions. He has a fantastic website that thoroughly describes and demonstrates both the surgery itself but also what to expect after surgery and what your physical therapy exercises will entail. I believe he genuinely cares about his patients and it shows in my results, for sure. I have healed faster than I expected, and with less pain than I anticipated. I highly recommend this Doctor.

I'm 28 years old and have been dealing with knee pain since middle school. After seeing several doctors I thought it was something I was just going to have to live with. I wanted to be more active so I gave it another shot, and saw a few orthopedic surgeons who recommended surgeries, which sounded painful with long recovery times. But then I was referred to Dr. Boes and things changed for the better! He took time to explain that I was dealing with muscle imbalance around by kneecap joint. His explanation sounded straightforward and I felt like he was genuinely concerned about my well-being. Instead of a painful operation, he prescribed simple stretches and anti- inflammatories. He told me it would be a long recovery process, but to stick with it. I followed his recommendations and couldn't be happier. I am now PAIN-FREE and ACTIVE -Ii can go on runs and bike rides! Thank you, Dr. Boes.

I had originally thought that I just needed some help with a bad rotator cuff. Well after x-rays & an MRI Dr. Boes gave me the news that I needed a complete shoulder replacement. He spent all the time that was needed to explain exactly what the procedure entailed and then continued the visit making sure that I understood everything and my fears were assuaged. At no time did I feel rushed or not heard. When my insurance company denied the pain management team Dr. Boes had suggested, he took it upon himself to manage & maintain any and all pain I might experience after the surgery. I'm now 6 months out and for the first time in I don't how many years I am completely pain free with a range of motion of almost 100%. My one & only complaint is that Dr. Boes doesn't specialize in spines as well. He has raised the bar for what I now expect from doctors here in the Raleigh, NC area.
