Ratings for Dr. Ellis S. Allen
Extremely intelligent doctor but I wholeheartedly agree with another posting that Dr. Allen's own "omniscience" does make this doctor unwilling to listen to the patient. Personal opinions about the patient outside of their healthcare should be irrelevant, yet Dr. Allen's superiority comes across as condescending and humiliating. I had used this doctor for YEARS & had the utmost respect for his knowledge. He is thorough and skilled. However, and it may not be Dr. Allen's fault, recent changes in drug laws make ALL doctors automatically assume any patient with ANY referenced pain is seeking narcotics. This "heightened sense of awareness" is making ALL doctor's focus change from "First do no harm..." to "First cover thy add against loss of my license even if the patient is harmed and care diminished."
Dr Allen has the potential to be a fine doctor. However, his need to be right all the time, to be the absolute authoritarian commander in chief of your health care decisions, his " orders" and his intolerance of any questioning of why a certain choice was made - all these God complex traits make me think he must have severe self esteem issues. He will not accept that there might be any piece of knowledge not already in his possession, nor the possibility that he could ever make a mistake. If you just want prescriptions to mask any symptoms you're having, and don't care why you're having the symptoms in the first place, you might do well with him. Important note: be VERY careful never to say orv do or ask anything that he might take as criticism of his omniscience and knowledge and invincibility. He has a short temper and can't control his behaviour in a manner suitable for a professional.
