Ratings for Dr. John C. Chaney
Excellent physician who is obviously devoted to his patients. He has a busy practice & there is sometimes a wait to be seen, but he is very thorough & takes time to explain your condition & treatment plan in language you can understand. I have great confidence in Dr. Chaney & would highly recommend him to family or friends.
Don't even try to call and schedule an appointment. You will never get an answer, only a recording.....when you leave a message for them, they do not bother to return the call. He is somewhat curt, doesn't seem to want to answer questions in detail If you try to call and schedule an appointment, you will never get past the voice mail If you leave a message, they will not return the call. Staff mostly ignores you and the wait time is awful. Dr. Chaney is curt and abrupt, doesn't seem to want to spend time answering questions or explaining diagnosis, etc. Ms. Crow is quite rude if you ask questions!
The staff at Dr. Chaney's office are horrible to say the least! They are the most unprofessional group who gossip openly while you are sitting in the waiting room, they messily eat and drink at the desk, and they lie about calling you to schedule an appointment. Had severe shortness of breath and called to schedule an appointment and they said they would call me back with a time and never did. I guess having shortness of breath while diagnosed with lung cancer isn't serious enough for them to schedule an appointment. Needless to say I will be finding another doctor who will take my health seriously.
We frequently travel to Pensacola, seeking the "Best" medical help available in our geographic area. In this instance, Dr. Chaney was rated higher than any other Oncology/Pulmonologist within 50 miles. When we met him we found the ratings did not do him justice. He is a War Hero that engaged in perilous rescue missions, who is extremely knowledgeable, and also had an outstanding bedside manner that calmed my wife's justifiable anxiety. After his excellently performed broncoscopy, He was candid about the preliminary findings findings. While I hold other professionals also to high standards, with most failing to meet them, this physician is one of the half dozen or so top ones I have used in the last 50 years.
