Biography
Richard Sarle, MD is board certified by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Sarle has been practicing in the Metropolitan Detroit area with the Michigan Institute of Urology since 2006. Dr. Sarle completed his Surgical Residency, Urology Residency, and Robotic Urologic Oncology fellowship at the Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, MI from 1999-2006. Dr. Sarle is a partner of Michigan Institute of Urology. Dr. Sarle was one of the first urologists in the United States to complete a fellowship in Robotic Urologic Oncology. He was a member of the first robotic prostatectomy team at Henry Ford’s Vattikuti Urology Institute in 2001, and played a significant role in the development of new robotics techniques that are now used throughout the world. Dr. Sarle is one of few surgeons who has performed over 2000 robotic procedures. Dr. Sarle has lectured, instructed and performed robotic procedures in Europe, South America, and throughout the United States. Dr. Sarle has authored, co-authored, and presented multiple abstracts, articles, and book chapters in the area of robotic surgery. Dr. Sarle is currently a clinical faculty member with the Wayne State University Urology Department, the Michigan State University/Detroit Medical Center Urology Department, and the Beaumont Hospital/Oakland University School of Medicine Urology Department.
