Ratings for Dr. Joel L. Lamm
My wife came back twice for a pimple that she thought was basal cell on her nose. He said it was a vein and nothing to worry about. It did not go away and we went to another doctor. The other doctor looked at it and said it was suspicious and needed to be biopsied. It turned out to be a basal cell and my wife needed MOHs surgery. Thankfully we did not listen to Dr Lamm. We will never go back or recommend Dr Lamm to anyone
My family had been patients of Dr. Lamm for over 20 years so my wife made an appointment as a new patient at 5:30pm. We moved away and I would have to take off work early to drive there, so we called to confirm the appointment. There was traffic so we called to tell them we will be 10 minutes late. We arrived at 5:41pm in the office and the receptionist said the doctor has left for the day and displayed condescending false sympathy to our plight and even said "the doctor's not here, you want to check his office?" We complained how they should not have scheduled and confirmed an appointment if the doctor wasn't going to have time to see my wife and they responded how it would have just been quickly in and out -- they admitted that even for a new patient the doctor never intended to spend more than 10 minutes which includes the time to fill out the paperwork! Especially considering this is how the doctor treats a loyal family of patients I would never recommend this doctor again.

I am very disappointed to see this review, and I disagree entirely with the facts presented. Obviously you were very pleased with the service I provided you for over 20 years, as you state. The night in question, you correctly point out, your wife had an appointment at 5:30 as a new patient. New patients are always told to arrive 15 minutes early to register. As well, patients with the last appointment of the day are advised that the office can not be kept open beyond. As you can appreciate, keeping an office staff waiting can be very expensive and wasteful. We were advised by you that traffic had made you late, and you were graciously offered another appointment. We did wait 10 minutes beyond your appointed time, which is 25 minutes after the time you were asked to arrive. I am very sorry that you feel this is my fault, but I disagree. I would , however, welcome you and your wife back and move beyond this unfortunate misunderstanding.

I went in as a new patient the other day for a issue on my feet. The doctor came in for all of 30 seconds and that was it. Had no time to ask questions and he was very abrupt would never recommend him. I did not feel confident in his diagnosis so I went somewhere else and his diagnosis was incorrect.
My husband had a horrible rash on his neck. Dr Lamm misdiagnosed it and gave wrong medicine. Rash then spread to face with itching and burning. He had to leave work early to get an emergency appointment. Dr. Lamm spent 2 minutes with him and said he needed a antibiotic immediately. Dr never called in rx. We called the emergency/after hour number to have dr pages while we waited in cvs. We were called back and told dr would not call in rx and we would need to call his office in the am. I explained that my husband was in a lot of discomfort and really need rx, we were told dr would not call in rx from home and to call in am then was hung up on. He is an elitist, snob. Has the demeanor that he is better than you. This dr does not care about his patients and his staff are just as rude!!!
My wife has been a patient of his for years and ran out of a medicated foam she uses for psoriasis and has been using for years, as prescribed BY Dr. Lamm. His receptionist said my wife couldn't renew the script w/o an appt. She stated he 'legally' couldn't renew it. My wife worked in a dr.'s office and called it for the blatant lie it was. She also agrees with the other reviews that his exams are very quick and doesn't seem interested in answering questions. We will find another dermatologist
