Ratings for Dr. Mario A. Almeida
Dr. Almeida treats the whole person, and not just the condition. He combines the best of modern day medical knowledge with the best of old time, caring and concern of the doctors of yesterday. A great man as well as a great doctor. And, if his waiting room is packed it's because he's worth the wait!
If I am alive is because of Dr. Almeida. He loves his profession, and his knowledge is second to none, not only in his specialty but when a question arises from other branches of the medical field.....he has the answer.....the right answer. An incredible human being, s man that I am proud to call my friend.
This is the best Doctor in Miami. He added 5 years to the life of my elderly Uncle due to his caring and attention to details. He has been my personal physician and that of my extended family for 10 years. There is no other Doctor that I would trust to place my life in their hands. Yes, you need to wait a long time to see him because he has trusted and dedicated patients. I hate to wait as well, but what is your life worth?
staff is too slow and very long wait. Waiting room has no comfortable seats and parking is expensive if you can find a spot close enough to entrance. The rest are in hot sun and very far away. Appointments are place 3 months in advance which makes it hard to see him before you lose your kidney and if his staff answers phone the day you call them. But Doctor Almeida is a nice man who takes an interest in helping you with kidney problems if he sees you early. Otherwise see another doctor for help.
My comments are based on the initial consultation. Female 35 yrs old; Insurance- AvMed Hlth Ins; 3 Hr wait from Appt Time to Meet w/Dr; Exam 45 min; Lab 20 min. Overall experience was extremely pleasant considering I was expecting D worse. Waiting area is spacious, tidy & wi-fi enabled. Examining rooms are small, lab area is congested w/no process in place that transitions pt from medical exam area to lab area-- Fend for yourself. Receptionist is tasked w/quite a # of duties that limit her ability 2 apply a high level of hospitality mgmnt. D triage nurse was very pleasant. Plebotomist wasn't rude, but impersonal. Dr. A is blessed w/interpersonal skills, compassion & thoroughness. He has excellent bedside manners, listened to every detail of my symptoms, req'd diag studies that aligned w/ each of them. He was very comprehensive & I am assured that he will deliver the highest possible level of medical care available. More to report on my next visit --Christ's Child
