I went to see Dr. Novicki in August when I noticed discoloring and pain from my big toe's toenail. As soon as I saw him he said it wasn't a fungus- which it seems like it has every symptom to be, and said I had an ingrown nail and wanted to cut part of the nail away right away. I told him I was an educator and starting school soon and he started lecturing me that teachers wait until the last minute all the time and did I notice this at the beginning of the summer and what was I doing that was so important all summer? He walked out, came back with a needle to numb my toe and a scalpel....I told him that I didn't want him to touch my toe before school started....he then threw the instruments into a pan and threw his hands up and said Fine! Then proceeded to record himself about the appt saying patient refused the procedure and will come back. As I walked out, I did not make an appt...he saw me and told the secretary to make an apt for me as I was walking away...I tried to be polite, made the appt., walked out, the cancelled later. I've been to him before where he has a lecturing attitude but this was condescending and rude. Will find another podiatrist....

I am so sorry I ever stepped foot in his office! I went for extreme pain in my right foot. He quickly diagnosed it as neurapthy and sent me for physical therapy. Prescribed lotions and potions. Looked at my left foot said I needed surgery on that one and forgot about the right one. It turns out 2 yrs later I went for a second opinion. I have fractures in my foot!! One of which the bone may be necrotizing due to the length of time it's been broken.

I agree with two of the previous reviewers that Dr. Novicki is not a good doctor. I came to him for an evaluation regarding an arthritic big toe, and Dr. Novicki's first suggestion was to have surgery right away. Nothing was said regarding alternative approaches until I brought them up. My toe is not in a horrible condition and could definitely benefit from non-surgical interventions. However, non-surgical approaches do not seem to be Dr. Novicki's expertise, which was very disappointing. I would suggest caution when dealing with him, and doing your own research prior to following his suggestions. Get a second opinion if possible.

I had hammertoe surgery by him a few years ago on my right 2nd toe and it's now crooked and rubbing against my middle toe, not to mention shorter. He didn't use a k-wire. When I complained afterward he just cut me off saying 'BUT overall you're happy'. He didn't warn me at all about the possible unfavorable outcomes before the surgery. I saw a couple other higher rated podiatrists since then. Both said I don't have any hammertoes even though he said both of my 2nd toes are hammertoes, and that I didn't need the surgery. One of those podiatrists said I could get it fixed with a k-wire but that my toe might be shorter, while the other strongly advised me against any further surgery due to the risk involved. Dr. Novicki doesn't seem up to date on some of the more modern methods available in podiatry. My dad went to him for toenail fungus on his big toes and first thing he said was 'we're getting those toenails taken out today', and proceeded with removing his big toenails completely without even suggested any kind of medication or that laser treatment procedure they have now. He seems quite trigger-happy when it comes to suggesting unnecessary and aggressive surgery on your feet. Do yourself a favor and do research on the podiatrist you see first and get all your facts straight before agreeing to any kind of surgery, or else you might end up with an unfixable foot or toe problem like myself that you'll regret for the rest of your life.

novicki is one of the worst doctors i have ever come across. His staff is helpful but as a doctor, he comes of rude and impatient. he jumps straight to a surgical intervention which is more costly and may not be covered by insurance. In my opinion i would stay away from his practice and find a doctor willingly to look out for his patients.

I have been dr, Novicki's patient for four years now. The staff is excellent -caring, reassuring, friendly and knowledgeable. At the time I began seeing Dr. Novicki I was experiencing deep pain and frustrated from the debilitating consequences. I have had two surgeries so far. I owe him my peace of mind and renewed mobility. I sing his praises wherever I go. P.S. There is also friendly Spanish speaking staff. Laura V.
