My one New Patient visit to Dr. Becker, and hassled follow-up, were a non responsive nightmare. Becker's office billed what has always been an annual physical as a New Patient visit, which cost me $116 out of pocket + 150% of my previous internists' charges (also in BCBS Network). BCBS said office visit was coded incorrectly; Becker's office wrote off "excess" but not change code to New Patient Visit b/c i answered Becker's Health history question with being on thyroid script med (included in previous dr's records sent to Becker's office in advance). learned reason for $116 charge (BCBS free annual physical) after 4 months of calls..never pd a cent OOP before. Becker dismissed me as a patient after my repeated inquiries, leaving me ww/o a prescribing dr. for my thyroid scripts and BCBS out $600 for my meeting with her. Having NEVER experienced this from ANY doctor, i feel this treatment is unethical and immoral. I paid an en extra $116 in cash, now have NO MD. Be forewarned!

IF they take BCBS, they make patients pay ADDITIONAL before they can leave! office took pix of my BCBS card + i had provided detailed patient records BEFORE my appointment from my previous Dr. of internal medicine. My annual premium has included one Well Woman Exam for years, yet Dr. Becker's office wanted an additional $100+, presumably for my follow up questions. After my labwork and Dr. Becker's assessment, indeed i had questions, but was told i'd need to make an additional appoinment at additional cost. Then i received a bill for > $600 which apparently hadn't even been submitted to BCBS (they had made copies of my card). The thought of changing doctors again.... and not having meaningful dialog with my new doctor... are my reasons for advising new patients to go elsewhere.... and do whatever they can to ENSURE there are no hidden charges....that if the doctor's office verifies they are on your network, they should accept that negoated rate. This hasn't happened to me before
