50-Year Old Female with degenerative arthritis. I knew before my first visit that the outcome was going to be bi-lateral total knee replacement due to advanced arthritis. Also, due to extreme cartilage deterioration, I was not a candidate for hyaluronic acid. He began treatment with a cortisone injection, strong anti-inflammatory medicine, and physical therapy. The less invasive methods were necessary because of insurance requirements but in my case were not effective. I had bi-lateral total knee replacement in October 2011. I was hospitalized then went to a physical rehabilitation facility. After completing physical therapy at home, I was able to return to work six-weeks after my procedures. I had periodic checkups and one year later, he discharged me from his care unless I have further issues. I credit his skill as a surgeon to my rapid recovery. I am extremely pleased with my results and am now considering another orthopedic procedure. I will go back to Dr. Tew again.

To replace a knee cap in a 50 plus patient knowing the knee was in less than great shape , just shows how much another operation down the road means to some people getting the buck means..I have been told by 3 other DR this was a waste of time and money, not to mention PAIN ,I am now going through just 2 years later With a total knee replacement which should have been done the first time...Knee cap replacement is for young healthy persons ,not older persons with other health problems...and because he looks good doesn't mean he is any more than a pretty face Get a 2nd and 3rd opinion
