Ratings for Dr. John M. Strasswimmer
Staffing is incompetent. Make sure they accept insurance by calling Your plan and be sure they're billing correctly. A doctor is first represented by staff, beware. In addition, I was left with a nylon stitch and told my stitches would dissolve. Nylon does not dissolve. It was a painful recovery unnecessarily.
He did not prepare me well for Mohs surgery. I ended up with a 4 inch scar down the side of my face. The spot he removed from my cheek was only about a quarter inch in diameter. Perhaps the size of the incision was necessary, but I had no idea it would be that large. He didn't tell me. When I asked him before the surgery how long it would be, he held his fingers apart about an inch. I suspect that the surgery was poorly and hastily performed, although I can't say for sure. The briefing before surgery was definitely lacking. I would have gotten a second opinion had I known there was a possibility the incision would be so disfiguring.
