Ratings for Dr. Edward Jeffrey Donner
After a car accident, I went to Dr. Biggs. He evidentially can't read an MRI. His staff sucks and is of little help. Dr. Biggs had me see his PA. And my wife later found out she was trying to get help from his useless MA. As a result of not seeing a ruptured disc on an MRI, I had to spend 2 weeks in bed.. I couldn't sit up or stand. I had to crawl out to my car four times. Once to Poudre Valley Hospital to emergency room and Dr. Steven Slauson. He too can't read an MRI as he sent me home, in pain. The second time to Front Range Pain Center and Dr. Brown, gave me a shot, wrongly and sent me home. My wife found Dr. Donner, in Johnstown and Dr. Lowry, his pain specialist, recognized the problem immediately. As did I, viewing the MRI from across the room. Ruptured Disc. Dr. Lowry gave me a proper shot in the spine, relieving the pain. Doctor Donner got me into the surgery center two days later and cured the problem. His staff is the best I have ever worked with. Every one of them showed concern and compassion. They all knew their job and related it well. The surgery center is right next door and is equally staffed with competent individuals who will make you feel safe and do a great job. Go to them. Thanks Dr. Donner I could have been “fixed” the day after my emergency room visit. It’s now two months later. Don't go to him..
I had a fusion on the L5S1 and was left with a numb toe and numbness halfway up my leg. My back hurts more now than it did 3.5 yrs. ago. He told me there was nothing else he could do and turned me loose. He did say I could get the nerve killed.
Both my wife and I have found Dr. Donner and his entire staff to be the friendliest and most helpful of any medical clinic we have visited. We are in our 70s and, therefore, subject to some of the "throw-away" mentality that seems to be growing in our era. Dr. Donner, Chris and Bob have been very willing to take the time necessary to thoroughly explain their diagnoses and suggestions for treatment...while making it very clear that our bodies belong to us, and the final decisions belong to us. From the moment we walk in the front door and are greeted by Terah, the receptionist, the treatment is consistent throughout our visit.
Dr. Donner at Colorado Spine Institute has been treating me for sacro-iliac joint pain for over 18 months. We spent most of that time struggling with Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance to gain approval for a sacro-iliac joint fusion, a procedure that Anthem views as experimental and, therefore, not medically necessary. Dr. Donner and his medical assistant, Bob Korkow, spent many hours of uncompensated time helping me and my husband with health insurance appeals. The pain eventually became so debilitating that I had to cut back to part-time employment from my career as a Registered Nurse at Poudre Valley Hospital, which made me eligible for coverage under my husband’s health plan. United Health Care approved the surgery almost immediately, and Dr. Donner operated on me a couple weeks later, in March 2016. The operation took over two hours because of extensive deterioration of connective tissue within the joint. I experienced little pain during my recovery, which went well, and our visits to Dr. Donner’s office to check on my progress served as high points during that time. Dr. Donner referred me to a great physical therapist, Silvia Sorensen, who tailored a program designed specifically for me. Three months later, I’ve returned to work part-time, and my quality of life has improved remarkably. The most notable enhancement has been the ability to sleep through entire nights instead of waking up in pain multiple times every night, which was the case for many years prior to surgery. My husband and I view our referral to Dr. Donner as a stroke of very good fortune. He is a kind and caring man as well as an expert in his field who spends a great deal of time researching methods to improve the lives of his patients. A few other staff members that we would like to recognize for their kindness and great service include Luke, Stacy, Tara, Cassie, and Rebecca. We are extremely thankful for everybody we met whether we recall their names or not. We recommend Dr. Donner and all of the CSI staff to anyone in need of pain relief or other spine-related issues. Thank you, Dr. Donner. You saved my life. JoAnn Hovland, RN Fort Collins, CO
Dr. Donner and staff are absolutely the best at what they do, I could not give them a higher recommendation. The office in Loveland, Colo. has a small town feel, and incredibly, he and his staff actually care about you. MRI and x-ray equipment are located in his office with results immediately available. He will show and explain the images to you 5 minutes after they are taken, you will understand the problem, and you will understand his recommendation. Always accessible, always punctual, always on your level, always caring. High tech equipment and surgical procedures in the hands of a man who practices his gift the way it used to be done decades ago. My lumbar procedure, cervical fusion, and cervical disc replacement over the last 5 years were successful and I am pain free. Leave the rat-race in Denver and go to his practice. I think you will like the results. Connie Hawkins
